Ameesha’s video also captured her interacting with Bobby Deol, giving a hug to Tiger Shroff, and posing for photographs with the brothers’ cousin, actor Abhay Deol.
Sharing her heartfelt thoughts on the film, Ameesha thanked Sunny and Bobby for organising the screening of “our legend Dharamji’s last film”. She described the movie as a “sweet and endearing film” and a “fitting tribute” to the icon.
Ameesha Patel particularly noted that Dharmendra’s signature “charm and innocence” made the viewing experience both emotional and heart-warming. She concluded her review by wishing the entire team and Ikkis “super success”.
The Deol family’s personal tributes were scattered throughout the evening: Sunny Deol was seen being deeply moved by his father’s final performance on the silver screen as he posed with a massive poster of Dharmendra. Bobby Deol chose a poignant way to honour his father’s memory, attending the screening while wearing one of Dharmendra’s shirts.
Directed by Sriram Raghavan, ‘Ikkis’ marks the final screen appearance of Dharmendra, who passed away on November 24, 2025, at the age of 89 – just weeks before his 90th birthday.
The film is a biographical war drama starring Agastya Nanda (the grandson of Amitabh Bachchan) as Arun Khetarpal. It chronicles the heroic sacrifice of the 1971 war hero, who remains the youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra.
Adding to the film's emotional weight, Dharmendra himself penned a poem for the project, featuring the yearning line: “Aaj bhi ji karda hai, pind apne nu jaawa” (I yearn to return to my village).
Produced by Maddock Films and Jio Studios, ‘Ikkis’ boasts a powerful supporting cast including: Jaideep Ahlawat, Simar Bhatia, Sikandar Kher and Deepak Dobriyal.
The film is set to reach audiences nationwide when it releases in theatres on January 1, 2026.
