Karan Johar has officially announced that the upcoming 9th season of his iconic, controversial, and wildly entertaining talk show, ‘Koffee With Karan’, will be its last. The news dropped via an emotional promo on his Instagram on Wednesday, sending the internet into a frenzy. In the video, Karan Johar reminisced about pitching the idea to his late father, Yash Johar, back in 2004. Yash Johar had jokingly asked who would pay Karan to just chat with his friends.

The answer, it turned out, was millions of viewers over the next two decades. The filmmaker acknowledged the show's massive impact – and its baggage. From keeping the word “nepotism” in his life to hosting lovers who married and others who parted ways, he’s seen it all. He even quipped that the show “nearly ended the careers” of some national icons.
