'Bigg Boss 20' trailer featuring Salman Khan out now.

The wait is almost over for ‘Bigg Boss’ fans. The official trailer of the reality show’s 20th season has arrived, with Salman Khan returning as host and unveiling the biggest clue yet about the new game. Far removed from the familiar ‘Bigg Boss’ house, the 70-second trailer unfolds inside a packed battle arena, complete with warriors, horses and a royal court. However, beneath its action-film treatment lies the season’s real hook: every housemate will seemingly receive an additional life in the competition.

The trailer opens with a sweeping cinematic shot of a massive, sunlit arena, completely packed with a roaring crowd. The spectators are uniquely dressed in an eclectic mix of medieval, dystopian, and steampunk attire – including a striking character wrapped entirely in mummy bandages. Down in the dusty pit, two heavily muscled gladiators are locked in a brutal, weapon-wielding duel as the crowd eagerly cheers for blood.

Here are the three biggest talking points from ‘Bigg Boss 20’ trailer:

1. Bigg Boss Game Presented As Full-Blown Battlefield

The trailer opens with Salman Khan emerging from a dark passage while leading a black horse into a sprawling, sand-covered arena. Dressed in an all-black sleeveless ensemble and wearing a mask across the lower half of his face, the superstar immediately brings a rugged, action-hero energy to the promo.

Inside the arena, two armed warriors are engaged in a fierce battle as spectators occupying the surrounding galleries cheer them on. A king watches from his elevated seat, while different versions of the signature ‘Bigg Boss’ eye are embedded across the walls. After the warriors overpower each other and collapse, Salman dramatically drops into the arena, removes his mask and takes control of the situation.

The gladiator-inspired setting works as a clear metaphor for the reality show. The ‘Bigg Boss’ house has always been a battleground of personalities, alliances and survival strategies, but Season 20 appears determined to push that idea much further. The visuals promise a harsher, more competitive game where contestants may have to fight for every advantage.

2. Every Contestant Gets “Extra Jeevan Daan”

The trailer’s biggest reveal arrives after both warriors are left motionless on the ground. Salman points towards them one after the other and declares, “Tathas-two”. A mysterious green light flows from his hand, bringing both men back into the fight.

Salman then explains, “This time in Bigg Boss, every housemate will get not one, but two chances... So, there’s no chance that they’ll play it safe.” He follows it up by announcing the season’s central twist: an “Extra Jeevan Daan” for every contestant.

The promo confirms an additional opportunity for the housemates but cleverly refuses to disclose how it will work. Will it save contestants from elimination, allow them to return after being evicted or come with a difficult condition? None of that has been revealed yet. In fact, Salman has cautioned that ‘Jeevan Daan’ is not as straightforward as it sounds and will also change the way contestants play the game.

3. Salman Khan's Warrior Avatar

The host himself gets a major stylistic upgrade. Rather than merely appearing as the show’s presenter, Salman is positioned as the all-powerful figure controlling the contestants’ fates. Making a grand entrance alongside a majestic black horse, Salman sports a rugged, sleeveless leather jacket, arm gauntlets, and a futuristic face mask. It is a fierce, intimidating look that perfectly matches the high-stakes gladiator theme.

While these were the three standout elements, the trailer also ties together the cryptic clues dropped in the earlier promos. The first teaser referenced Salman Khan’s iconic film ‘Karan Arjun’, in which the titular brothers are reborn after their deaths. Salman had teased, “Jo Karan Arjun mein hua tha, woh hoga ab Bigg Boss mein,” hinting that the idea of returning for another life would shape the new season.

The catchphrase “Tathas-two” now becomes more than just wordplay. It combines “tathastu” with the number two, referring to the two opportunities promised to every player. ‘Bigg Boss 20’ will premiere on September 6, 2026. It will stream on JioHotstar at 9 pm and air on Colors TV at 10:30 pm. The contestants are yet to be officially announced.
