Bigg Boss Winners List: All Seasons, Prize Money & Hosts
From Sidharth Shukla to Tejasswi Prakash and Gaurav Khanna, here’s the complete Bigg Boss winners list covering every season’s champion, prize money and host over the years.
Few reality shows in India have enjoyed the kind of pop-culture dominance that Bigg Boss has. Since its Hindi television debut in 2007, the show has turned everyday arguments, alliances, breakdowns, betrayals and dramatic finales into appointment viewing for millions. Adapted from the global Big Brother format, Bigg Boss quickly became far more than just a reality show -- it became a celebrity pressure cooker, a TRP magnet, and a launchpad for unforgettable television moments. Over the years, it has featured changing rules, shifting prize amounts, evolving audience tastes and a host lineup that began with Arshad Warsi, moved through Shilpa Shetty and Amitabh Bachchan, and eventually became almost synonymous with Salman Khan.

Here’s a complete look at every winner from the main Hindi TV seasons of Bigg Boss, along with the prize money and host for each edition.
1. Bigg Boss Season 1
Winner: Rahul Roy
Host: Arshad Warsi
Rahul Roy, already a household name thanks to his sensational debut in the 1990 film ‘Aashiqui’, walked into the inaugural season and won the audience over with his exceptionally calm and composed demeanour. In a house that was still figuring out the reality TV blueprint, Rahul Roy’s quiet strategy stood out against his more volatile housemates.
He ultimately took home the massive Rs 1 crore cash prize, setting the benchmark for all future seasons. His victory proved early on that you didn't always need to be the loudest voice in the room to survive the psychological pressure cooker of the house.
2. Bigg Boss Season 2
Winner: Ashutosh Kaushik
Host: Shilpa Shetty Kundra
Riding high on his MTV Roadies 5.0 victory, Ashutosh Kaushik brought a raw, unfiltered small-town charm to the second season. Hosted by Shilpa Shetty, this season saw Ashutosh navigate complex dynamics, eventually beating out Raja Chaudhary in a nail-biting finale.
Ashutosh's win solidified the reality TV veteran archetype in the Bigg Boss universe. His relatable personality and street-smart adaptability made him a massive hit with the masses.
3. Bigg Boss Season 3
Winner: Vindu Dara Singh
Host: Amitabh Bachchan
With megastar Amitabh Bachchan taking over the hosting duties, Season 3 needed a winner with a larger-than-life presence. Enter Vindu Dara Singh. Known for his emotional transparency and highly entertaining antics, Vindu became the life of the house.
He wore his heart on his sleeve, crying, laughing, and fighting with equal passion. This sheer authenticity resonated deeply with the voting public, allowing him to defeat Pravesh Rana and walk away with the Rs 1 crore prize.
4. Bigg Boss Season 4
Winner: Shweta Tiwari
Host: Salman Khan
Season 4 was a monumental turning point for the franchise: Salman Khan stepped in as host, a role he would command for years to come. It was also the year ‘Bigg Boss’ crowned its first-ever female winner, television icon Shweta Tiwari.
Already a beloved figure for her role as Prerna in ‘Kasautii Zindagii Kay’, Shweta showcased immense grace and resilience. Despite facing relentless personal attacks and provocation inside the house, she maintained her dignity, defeating The Great Khali to claim the Rs 1 crore prize and paving the way for future "boss lady" contestants.

5. Bigg Boss Season 5
Winner: Juhi Parmar
Hosts: Salman Khan & Sanjay Dutt
Co-hosted by Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt, Season 5 was famously dominated by female contestants. Juhi Parmar, widely known for her hit daily soap ‘Kumkum’, utilized her strong voice to navigate the house's intense politics.
Juhi was fiercely loyal but never shied away from calling out what she felt was wrong. Her balanced gameplay and massive television fanbase helped her defeat Mahek Chahal, making her the second consecutive television bahu to lift the trophy and the final winner to take home the full Rs 1 crore before the prize money was restructured.
6. Bigg Boss Season 6
Winner: Urvashi Dholakia
Host: Salman Khan
Season 6 championed the theme of "Alag Che", striving for a more family-friendly vibe. However, there was nothing tame about Urvashi Dholakia's gameplay. Best known as the iconic television vamp Komolika, Urvashi proved to be fiercely independent, unapologetically blunt, and incredibly strong-willed.
She famously refused to be part of any "pack," fighting her battles solo. Her straightforward nature helped her edge out the wildly eccentric Imam Siddiqui, taking home the revised prize money of Rs 50 lakh.
7. Bigg Boss Season 7
Winner: Gauahar Khan
Host: Salman Khan
Season 7 remains one of the most culturally defining seasons of the show, largely due to Gauahar Khan. She was articulate, highly opinionated, and never hesitated to take a stand — even if it meant going against the host, Salman Khan.
Her journey was beautifully complex, highlighting her fierce sense of justice and a highly publicized romance with Kushal Tandon. Gauahar defeated Tanishaa Mukherji to take home Rs 50 lakh cash prize.
8. Bigg Boss Season 8
Winner: Gautam Gulati
Host: Salman Khan (Main Season) / Farah Khan (Halla Bol)
Gautam Gulati’s Bigg Boss arc is the ultimate masterclass in the lone wolf strategy. Ostracized by the entire house in the very first week due to a massive altercation, Gautam flipped the narrative. He turned his isolation into his greatest strength, entertaining the cameras solo and becoming a national craze with the "We Love Gauti" anthem.
When the season was extended into the Halla Bol format hosted by Farah Khan, Gautam's popularity only surged. He transformed from the house villain to the undisputed hero, comfortably lifting the trophy and Rs 50 lakh cash prize.
9. Bigg Boss Season 9
Winner: Prince Narula
Host: Salman Khan
Prince Narula entered the house with unbeatable energy, having already won MTV Roadies and Splitsvilla. He applied his tried-and-tested reality show formula to Bigg Boss: dominate the physical tasks, build strong loyalties (his friendship with Kishwer Merchant and Suyyash Rai was a season highlight), and spark a romantic angle.
His absolute dominance in tasks and high-energy persona made him unstoppable, allowing him to defeat Rishabh Sinha and complete his reality TV hat-trick, taking home Rs 50 lakh as cash prize.
10. Bigg Boss Season 10
Winner: Manveer Gurjar
Host: Salman Khan
Season 10 shook up the format by pitting commoners against celebrities. It was a massive gamble that paid off beautifully when Manveer Gurjar, a dairy owner from Noida, won the season.
Manveer’s transformation from a rough-around-the-edges, aggressive commoner to a sensible, mature, and deeply loyal friend (forming the famous 'Manu-Manveer' duo) was a joy to watch. He beat celebrity VJ Bani J in the finale by taking home Rs 50 lakh.
11. Bigg Boss Season 11
Winner: Shilpa Shinde
Host: Salman Khan
Season 11 was entirely defined by the epic, season-long rivalry between Shilpa Shinde and Hina Khan. Shilpa, known for her controversy surrounding ‘Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai’, spent most of her time in the kitchen, organically becoming the maternal figure of the house.
Her ability to cook for 15+ people daily while simultaneously torturing Vikas Gupta (in the early weeks) and driving the narrative made her wildly popular. Her massive grassroots support easily carried her to the win, though the prize money was slightly dented during a mid-season task. She eventually took home Rs 44 lakh cash prize.
12. Bigg Boss Season 12
Winner: Dipika Kakar
Host: Salman Khan
Dipika Kakar entered Season 12 and played one of the most dignified, understated games the house has ever seen. The actress faced criticism for her boring gameplay and her unwavering, fiercely protective bond with cricketer S. Sreesanth.
However, her absolute clarity of thought, refusal to use foul language, and composed demeanour in a chaotic house struck a chord with the core television audience. She outlasted Sreesanth to win the trophy and Rs 30 lakh.
13. Bigg Boss Season 13
Winner: Sidharth Shukla
Host: Salman Khan
Arguably the most successful and explosive season in the franchise's history, Season 13 belonged entirely to the late Sidharth Shukla. He was a one-man army: fiercely aggressive, unapologetically logical, and brutally witty.
His intense rivalry with Asim Riaz and his deeply endearing bond with Shehnaaz Gill (#SidNaaz) kept the nation hooked for an extended run of 140+ days. Sidharth didn't just win the season; he became the gold standard against which all future ‘Bigg Boss’ alphas would be measured. Sidharth’s winning amount stood at Rs 40 lakh.
14. Bigg Boss Season 14
Winner: Rubina Dilaik
Host: Salman Khan
Rubina Dilaik entered the house alongside her husband, Abhinav Shukla, carrying the heavy baggage of a failing marriage. Initially dismissed by Salman Khan and seniors as unfit for the show, Rubina slowly roared back to life.
She was stubborn, incredibly articulate, and fought for her self-respect at every turn. By openly addressing her marital flaws on national television and playing an unyielding game, she transformed into an absolute powerhouse, defeating Rahul Vaidya to lift the trophy and Rs 36 lakh (Rakhi Sawant opted out with Rs 14 lakh).
15. Bigg Boss Season 15
Winner: Tejasswi Prakash
Host: Salman Khan
Season 15 was a rollercoaster of physical aggression and complex romantic angles. Tejasswi Prakash emerged victorious by blending her bubbly, entertaining persona with a fiercely competitive streak.
Her highly publicized relationship with co-contestant Karan Kundrra kept her in the daily headlines, while her aggressive gameplay during tasks ensured she was never sidelined. She ultimately beat out Pratik Sehajpal to take the trophy and a significant Rs 40 lakh prize.

16. Bigg Boss Season 16
Winner: MC Stan
Host: Salman Khan
In a season filled with loud television personalities, a quiet, introverted rapper from Pune pulled off the biggest upset in the show's history. MC Stan barely engaged in the standard Bigg Boss theatrics, often expressing a desire to go home early on.
However, his raw authenticity, unique lingo, and an absolute cult-like underground fanbase carried him through. He defeated his friend Shiv Thakare to win Rs 31.8 lakh, with reports also noting an additional car as part of the winner’s reward package.
17. Bigg Boss Season 17
Winner: Munawar Faruqui
Host: Salman Khan
Fresh off his victory in ‘Lock Upp’, stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui entered Season 17 as a heavy favourite. His journey, however, became intensely controversial when his complicated personal life and relationships were laid bare on national television.
Despite the heavy emotional toll and targeted attacks regarding his private life, Munawar used his signature wit, strategic alliances, and massive social media backing to hold his ground. He eventually defeated Abhishek Kumar to secure his second reality TV championship, walking away with Rs 50 lakh prize and a car.
18. Bigg Boss Season 18
Winner: Karan Veer Mehra
Host: Salman Khan
Season 18 saw television veteran and ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 14’ winner Karan Veer Mehra dominate the narrative. Known for speaking his mind, Karan faced intense scrutiny from fellow housemates over his gameplay, lifestyle, and past divorces.
Balancing incredible strength with moments of genuine vulnerability, his straightforward approach outclassed the competition. He secured the grand prize of Rs 50 lakh over Vivian Dsena.
19. Bigg Boss Season 19
Winner: Gaurav Khanna
Host: Salman Khan
The 19th iteration crowned ‘Anupamaa’ fame Gaurav Khanna as its champion. Gaurav practically reinvented the modern Bigg Boss playbook. Initially labelled as too passive and a back-foot player, he categorically refused to engage in the show's trademark screaming matches or manufactured rivalries.
Instead, he relied on a highly dignified, conflict-free approach, using sharp instincts during crucial tasks. Salman Khan himself dubbed him the “Superstar of TV” for maintaining his class under pressure. This quiet resilience allowed him to outlast competitors like Farrhana Bhatt to lift the trophy and the Rs 50 lakh prize money.
P.S.: For the digital spin-off, Bigg Boss OTT has had three winners so far. Divya Agarwal won Bigg Boss OTT 1, which was hosted by Karan Johar on Voot in 2021; Elvish Yadav won Bigg Boss OTT 2, hosted by Salman Khan on JioCinema in 2023; and Sana Makbul won Bigg Boss OTT 3, hosted by Anil Kapoor in 2024.
Over the years, Bigg Boss has changed hosts, experimented with formats, reduced and reshaped its prize pools, and welcomed contestants from films, television, comedy, music and the digital world. But its core appeal has remained the same: lock strong personalities inside a house, let emotions run wild, and watch one contestant outlast the rest.
