Bollywood actress Ananya Panday recently made her OTT series debut with ‘Call Me Bae’, which released on Amazon Prime Video. Despite receiving mixed reviews, the show is enjoying good viewership on the streaming platform. And keeping this in mind, it has now been renewed for a second season. For the unversed, ‘Call Me Bae’ follows Ananya Panday's character ‘Bae’, who has to leave her life in Delhi and move to Mumbai. The show follows her riches-to-rags story and how she eventually makes a living for herself.

Producer Karan Johar shared an official statement about the series being renewed for a second season.

“We’re stoked to announce that we’re working on developing the second season of Call Me Bae. The first season has been a game-changer for us, and we’re grateful for all the love and appreciation it has garnered from audiences across the globe. It’s been an absolute privilege to be a part of this journey, seeing the show go from script to screen and finally revel in immense love from viewers,” Karan Johar said.

“The love Ananya, Collin, Ishita, and the rest of the cast have received has been a true joy to witness. We’re genuinely excited to delve deeper into the characters and their stories, and we’re positive that the second season will be more Bae-misaal than before,” he added.

‘Call Me Bae’ has been produced by Dharmatic Entertainment with Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra serving as executive producers.

The series has been directed by Collin D'Cunha, and created by Ishita Moitra. The latter has written the series along with Samina Motlekar, and Rohit Nair.

Apart from Ananya Panday, the series also stars Vir Das, Varun Sood, Gurfateh Pirzada, Vihaan Samat, Muskaan Jafferi, Niharika Dutt, and Lisa Mishra, in key roles.

Meanwhile, Ananya Panday will next be seen in a cyber-thriller titled ‘CTRL’, directed by Vikramaditya Motwane. ‘CTRL’ will be released on Netflix on October 4.
