Amazon Prime Video on Thursday announced their upcoming project titled 'Call Me Bae' starring Ananya Panday. The streaming platform along with 'Bhediya' actor Varun Dhawan announced the launch of the show through a quirky video which showcases Ananya Panday channeling her inner Meryl Streep. In the video, Ananya Panday can be seen playing a fashion expert and she also takes potshots at Varun Dhawan for his lack of knowledge when it comes to fashion.
For the unversed, Meryl Streep had played an iconic role of Miranda Priestly, a powerful fashion magazine editor in 2006 film 'The Devil Wears Prada'.
In the video shared by Amazon Prime Video, Ananya Panday channels the monologue delivered by Meryl Streep in the 2006 film. She then mocks Varun Dhawan for not knowing the colour of his boxer shorts.

In the video, Varun Dhawan says he is wearing blue boxer shorts, but Ananya Panday corrects him, saying it is not blue, rather it is cerulean coloured boxers.
The fans were quick to notice the Meryl Streep connection in the video. Here are some of the comments:

'Call Me Bae' is an Amazon Original scripted series Call Me Bae and the show has just commenced filming.
The storyline of the show reads: A billionaire fashionista, Bae, (played by Ananya Panday), is disowned by her ultra-rich family owing to a salacious scandal. She has to fend for herself, for the first time ever. On this journey, she overcomes stereotypes, negotiates around prejudices and discovers who she really is.
A Dharmatic Entertainment production, with Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Somen Mishra serving as Executive Producers, 'Call Me Bae' is being directed by Collin D’Cunha. Created by Ishita Moitra who has also co-written the series with Samina Motlekar and Rohit Nair, 'Call Me Bae' will be available to Prime members in over 240 countries and territories upon its release.
