Ram Kapoor Reveals He Had “Countless Affairs”, Was “Playboy” Before Marriage
Ram Kapoor revealed he was once a self-confessed “playboy” with countless affairs and said Ektaa Kapoor even warned Gautami before their wedding.
Television powerhouse Ram Kapoor is known for his undeniable charm and acting chops, but the veteran star recently opened up about a wildly different side of himself on the latest episode of Netflix’s ‘Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa’. In a surprising and remarkably honest confession, Ram revealed that before tying the knot with his wife of over 20 years, Gautami Kapoor, he was an unapologetic "playboy" with a dating history he couldn't even track.

The candid admission came during a chat with co-contestant Shreya Kalra on the reality show, which is hosted by Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh. When Shreya curiously asked Ram just how many affairs he had been involved in, his response was swift and absolute. "After marriage, not a single one," he declared.
But when Shreya clarified that she was asking about his life before walking down the aisle, Ram held nothing back. "I was a playboy. I can't count my affairs," he confessed.
The revelations didn't stop there. Ram shared a shocking anecdote about the days leading up to his wedding, revealing that television producer and his close friend, Ektaa Kapoor, actually tried to intervene. Recognising his track record, Ektaa reached out to Gautami directly to issue a stark warning.

"Jab pata chala sabko ki Gautami aur Ram shaadi kar rahe hain, Ektaa (Kapoor), jo meri dost hai, she called Gautami and said, 'Tu kar rahi hai? Usne bahut saare affairs kiye hain,'" Ram recalled.
Rather than being offended by his friend's interference, Ram expressed total understanding of Ektaa's concerns. "Ektaa was worried for her," he admitted on the show. "Aur main maanta hoon jo Ektaa ne kiya sahi kiya kyunki main waisa tha."
Despite his colourful past, Ram and Gautami’s love story is one of television's most enduring. The couple first crossed paths in 2000 on the sets of the hit show ‘Ghar Ek Mandir’. At the time, Gautami was navigating a difficult period following a divorce, and Ram became a pillar of support for her. Their friendship naturally evolved into a deep romance. After dating for around two years and living together, they got married on Valentine's Day – February 14, 2003. Today, they share two children, daughter Sia and son Aks, and frequently delight fans with their playful, banter-filled reels on social media.
Ram's juicy confession is just the latest drama unfolding on ‘Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa’. The six-week Netflix series, which premiered on June 27 and drops new episodes Saturday through Thursday at 8 pm, features a mix of TV actors and reality stars including Sunita Ahuja, Yogesh Rawat, Dheeraj Dhoopar, Shivangi Joshi, and Sufi Motiwala. The dynamics inside the house have also recently been shaken up by the arrival of wildcard contestant Shilpa Shinde, promising even more fireworks in the weeks to come.
