Suriya Calls ‘Kanguva’ Co-Star Bobby Deol “Brother From Another Mother”
Suriya and Bobby Deol are gearing up for the release of their film ‘Kanguva’, co-starring Disha Patani.
Actors Suriya and Bobby Deol are all set to square off in the upcoming Tamil film ‘Kanguva’. The Tamil action film is set to release in cinemas on November 14, 2024. The duo might be playing arch-rivals in the film, but off screen, they seem to share a lovely bond, filled with love and respect for each other. Recently, Suriya and Bobby Deol attended the official press conference of the film, and it was then that the duo praised each other.
“I don’t find any difference between our industry and their industry; it’s the same,” said Bobby Deol, as per The Indian Express.
“When I was approached for Kanguva for the first time, and the minute they mentioned Suriya, I got so excited because his films always have an impact. However, things didn’t materialize at that time; later, I approached them and said I wanted to do the film since I loved the story. I manifested this film,” he added.
Bobby also said, “I said yes to the film for Suriya, when we met on set, it felt like I knew him for years. Despite being a big star he is so humble, we kept talking about our families with each other.”
Talking about his experience of working with Bobby Deol, Suriya said, “After meeting him, I learned what brother from another mother actually meant. Bobby has sacrificed spending festivals with family; he didn’t see the money, and even before Animal was released, he had the conviction that this film would also work wonders. He made this an Indian film. For the first two-three hours, I felt like these are stars from a galaxy far away, but when they come down, they give so much warmth and love. He has made the film larger.”
Bobby Deol made a roaring comeback to the big screen in December 2023 as he played the main antagonist in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's 'Animal'. The film which also starred Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor and Triptii Dimri, turned out to be a blockbuster as it minted more than Rs 500 crore.
“I am just very blessed, it feels like I am dreaming that I bagged yet another film after Animal. Every actor dreams of getting good projects, I am very lucky to have gotten this,” said Bobby Deol.
Speaking of 'Kanguva', the film also stars Disha Patani. It is slated to release in cinemas on November 14, 2024.
