SS Rajamouli Presents Biopic On "Father Of Indian Cinema" Titled 'Made In India'

S Rajamouli on Tuesday announced that a biopic is being made on the "father of Indian cinema".

'RRR' and 'Baahubali' director SS Rajamouli on Tuesday announced that a biopic is being made on the "father of Indian cinema" titled 'Made in India'. The acclaimed director said that when he first heard the narration of the upcoming film, it moved him "emotionally like nothing else." SS Rajamouli also posted an announcement video, and it has been confirmed that 'Made in India' is being directed by Nitin Kakkar while it will be produced by Varun Gupta and SS Karthikeya. 

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Rajamouli posted an announcement video, and he captioned the post: "When I first heard the narration, it moved me emotionally like nothing else. Making a biopic is tough in itself, but conceiving one about the FATHER OF INDIAN CINEMA is even more challenging. Our boys are ready and up for it..With immense pride, Presenting MADE IN INDIA."

The cast and the rest of the crew of the film are yet to be revealed. However, it has been confirmed that 'Made in India' will be releasing in theatres in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Kannada, and Malayalam. 

On Monday, Deadline reported that SS Rajamouli is also going to produce this particular movie. As per the report, the filmmaker is really looking forward to telling the story of "the birth and rise of Indian cinema."

SS Rajamouli's representative told the publication that the film promises to be a "magnum opus on a huge scale and canvas."

For the unversed, the history of Indian cinema dates back to the 20th century when Dadasaheb Phalke made the first-ever full-length feature film titled 'Raja Harishchandra' in 1913.

Dadasaheb Phalke is fondly referred to as the 'Father of Indian cinema'. 

Talking about SS Rajamouli, his latest release 'RRR' went on to be a huge global success. The movie also won the Best Original Song Oscar for 'Naatu Naatu'.
