SS Rajamouli has received a special gift from an 83-year-old Japanese woman, who happens to be a ‘RRR’ fan, upon his latest visit to the country.

SS Rajamouli is one of the most celebrated Indian filmmakers and over the years, he has given us several memorable movies such as the 'Baahubali' series, and 'RRR'. The Ram Charan and Jr NTR-starrer 'RRR' was released in cinemas in 2022, but the movie continues to receive love from all corners of the world. However, it is fair to say that the film has emerged as a different beast altogether in Japan. For the unversed, 'RRR' is currently the highest-grossing Indian film in Japan. In the latest entertainment news, SS Rajamouli has received a special gift from an 83-year-old Japanese woman upon his latest visit to the country.
SS Rajamouli confirmed on X (formerly Twitter), that the fan gifted him over 1000 origami cranes to wish him good health.
SS Rajamouli posted pictures with the fan, and wrote on X, "In Japan, they make origami cranes & gift them to their loved ones for good luck & health. This 83 yr old woman made 1000 of them to bless us because RRR made her happy. She just sent the gift and was waiting outside in the cold. Some gestures can never be repaid. Just grateful.”

Recently, British singer Ed Sheeran visited India for a concert. During an interview, he also praised RRR.
In an interview with India Today, Ed Sheeran said, "RRR is mental. It is an incredible film!”
For the uninitiated, 'RRR' also won the Oscar in the Best Original Song category for 'Naatu Naatu'. The movie also achieved several box office records, and 'RRR' remains one of the top-grossing Indian movies in history.
'RRR' recorded a global earning of more than Rs 1,200 crore. Apart from Ram Charan and Jr NTR, 'RRR' also stars Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt.
On the work front, SS Rajamouli has now moved onto his next film, which is reportedly with Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu.
The film is currently in the pre-production stage and nothing concrete has been put in the public domain.
The movie is tentatively titled 'SSMB29'. As per several reports, the movie is slated to release in theatres in 2025.
