SRK’s ‘Jawan’ Breaks Yet Another Record, Beats ‘Pathaan’ And ‘Gadar 2’ To Achieve This Huge Milestone
‘Jawan’, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, continued its record-breaking spree and achieved yet another milestone.
Shah Rukh Khan returned to the silver screen with his 2023 film ‘Pathaan’ after his 2018 movie ‘Zero’ tanked at the box office. ‘Pathaan’, also starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, became the highest-grossing Hindi movie of all time. After a few months, SRK came out with his second movie of 2023 – ‘Jawan’, which released on the occasion of Janmashtami. ‘Jawan’, also starring South superstars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, is continuing to dominate the box office and has achieved yet another milestone. It’s safe to say that SRK proved he’s truly the ‘Badshah of Bollywood’.
With its second Sunday’s collection, ‘Jawan’ has now become the fastest Hindi movie to enter the Rs 400 crore club. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, the new movie earned 36.50 crore in India for all languages (early estimates) on its 11th day. In the Hindi language alone, ‘Jawan’ collected RS 34.50 crore, as per early estimates.
On Saturday, the SRK-starrer collected Rs 31.8 crore in all languages and on its second Friday, the new movie had minted Rs 19.1 crore in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
As of Saturday, the Tamil and Telugu versions had contributed Rs 46.55 crore to the movie’s total collection. ‘Jawan’ created another record as it has collected the most amount of money for a Hindi film in dubbed versions of Tamil and Telugu.
Earlier, this record belonged to SRK only as his movie 'Pathaan' had collected Rs 19 crore in Tamil and Telugu. 'Brahmastra: Part One Shiva' is at the third spot in the list, having collected a little above Rs 17 crore in the dubbed versions.
It remains to be seen if ‘Jawan’ will be able to overtake ‘Pathaan’, which made Rs 543.09 crore in all languages.
Talking about SRK’s latest release ‘Jawan’, it also stars Sanya Malhotra, Sunil Grover, Priyamani, Ridhi Dogra, Ashlesha Thakur, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Girija Oak, Lehar Khan and Aaliyah Qureishi.
‘Jawan’, directed by Atlee and produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, also features Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt in cameo appearances.
‘Jawan’ focuses on the journey of a man who sets out to correct the wrongs of the society with the help of a group of women.
Shah Rukh Khan will be next seen in Rajkumar Hirani's ‘Dunki’. It stars him with Taapsee Pannu for the first time.
