Priyanka Chopra returned to Indian cinema with a fiery first look as Mandakini in SS Rajamouli’s ‘GlobeTrotter’.
Actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas is officially returning to Indian cinema after several years. And she’s doing it in grand style with SS Rajamouli’s much-anticipated film, tentatively titled ‘GlobeTrotter’. On Wednesday evening, the filmmaker unveiled Priyanka Chopra’s dramatic first look as Mandakini, instantly setting social media abuzz. Sharing the poster on his Instagram account, SS Rajamouli wrote, “The woman who redefined Indian Cinema on the global stage. Welcome back, Desi Girl! @priyankachopra. Can’t wait for the world to witness your myriad shades of MANDAKINI.”

Priyanka also shared her first look, introducing her character with the caption, “She’s more than what meets the eye… Say hello to Mandakini. #GlobeTrotter.”
Mahesh Babu, who also stars in the film, joined in, writing, “And now she arrives… Meet MANDAKINI @priyankachopra.”
The poster itself has already become iconic. Priyanka, dressed in a bright yellow saree reminiscent of classic Bollywood duet sequences, is shown in a fierce avatar – standing at the edge of a cliff, firing a gun while trying to maintain her balance. Her hair is tied in a braid, and she has accessorised her traditional look with kolhapuris, a bindi, and jumkas.
Fans couldn’t contain their excitement. Comments flooded in, with one user writing: “OMG @priyankachopra as Mandakini? Saree slaying with a gun in @ssrajamouli's world? Meanwhile, anticipation for SS Rajamouli’s next big project continues to rise. Though details remain tightly under wraps, the film stars Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, and Prithviraj Sukumaran, whose intense antagonist look as Kumbha was unveiled recently.
The makers have planned a massive event at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad on November 15, where the film’s official title and Mahesh Babu’s first look are expected to be revealed. The event will be live-streamed on JioHotstar.
Priyanka Chopra recently held an AMA session on X, where she revealed that her daughter Malti Marie had joined her on the Hyderabad sets. She shared that Malti spent time with Mahesh Babu and Namrata Shirodkar’s daughter Sitara, and even visited Rajamouli’s farm, where she excitedly met a calf.
She also spoke about her husband Nick Jonas, saying he has picked up several Hindi words such as “khana, paani, pyaar, paneer,” joking that he learnt most of them on his own. When asked about delivering Telugu lines, Priyanka admitted, “It’s obviously not my first language but @ssrajamouli sir has been so helpful. I will be able to deliver my Telugu lines and live up to your expectations.”
On whether she’ll speak Telugu at the upcoming event, she added, “I’m still working on learning telugu. So please forgive my mistakes. But I’ll try. Maybe a mix? What do you think?”
