The global sensation is set to star in SS Rajamouli’s highly anticipated pan-Indian epic ‘Varanasi’, and she just gave fans an electrifying behind-the-scenes look at the film's recent grand launch event in Hyderabad. On Monday, Priyanka Chopra took to her Instagram handle, sharing a reel captioned, “The #Varanasi launch from my eyes”.
The post, which has already amassed over 750,000 likes and drawn excited comments from fans, showcased a candid journey from her private preparation to her triumphant moment on stage.

The video was a fascinating, fast-paced montage that showed the sheer scale of the event and the dedication behind Priyanka Chopra's appearance. It kicked off with a completely casual, makeup-free Priyanka at home, indulging in LED light therapy. “I'm practicing my Telugu,” the on-screen text read, as she pored over her notes.
The preparation continued in her car, where she was seen multitasking with a blue face mask on, meticulously writing in her “little diary”. As she said, she's “still analogue,” preferring to jot down her speech by hand.
The reel then captured her on-site rehearsals, dressed comfortably in a grey sweat suit and later a black leather jacket, walking the massive stage and conferring with the visionary director, SS Rajamouli. The video showed her practicing a specific Telugu phrase. Priyanka didn’t hide the pressure that came with such a massive comeback. While getting her hair and makeup done, she candidly admitted her nerves. “So much easier to say Telugu in the movie than it is to do in front of a live audience,” she confessed to her team.
The video also showed heart-warming, candid moments, including a shared laugh with her co-star, Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu, just moments before they took the stage. Dressed in a stunning white lehenga choli that gave off regal Princess Jasmine vibes, Priyanka was then seen ascending onto the stage via a hydraulic lift, greeting the roaring Hyderabad crowd with a Namaste.
Addressing the massive audience, she delivered her powerful speech. “I am so happy to be back,” she declared, “making this movie in my beloved India”. After her address, the video showed her warmly greeting Mahesh Babu's wife, Namrata Shirodkar, and daughter, Sitara, with hugs before taking her seat to watch the film's explosive first look video.
The event unveiled the title and teaser for the SS Rajamouli directorial, which stars Mahesh Babu in the lead role of Rudhra and Priyanka Chopra Jonas as the fierce Mandakini. The teaser, which played to a packed audience, showed Mahesh in a fiery avatar riding a bull with a trishul in hand. Prithviraj Sukumaran joined the star-studded cast as the terrifying antagonist, Kumbha.
During the event, Priyanka praised her co-stars, revealing that while Prithviraj looks “terrifying” in the film, he is the complete opposite in real life. She also extended her heartfelt thanks to Mahesh Babu and his family for making Hyderabad feel like home.
While the plot is shrouded in secrecy, fans speculate it involves time travel. SS Rajamouli himself confirmed one grand detail: a sequence featuring Mahesh Babu as Lord Rama, which alone took 60 days to shoot.
