The battle for the big-screen box office in 2027 is already heating up, and right at the centre of the conversation is Prabhas and Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s much-awaited action film ‘Spirit’. Over the past few days, social media was flooded with speculation claiming that the ambitious pan-India movie had been postponed from its announced March 5, 2027 release date. The reason? Rumours suggested the makers wanted to avoid a potential clash with Salman Khan’s upcoming Eid 2027 entertainer, tentatively titled ‘SVC63’.

However, the makers have now stepped in to set the record straight. Indian film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared an official clarification confirming that ‘Spirit’, co-starring Triptii Dimri, is very much on track for its originally announced March 5, 2027 theatrical release.

The update immediately put an end to growing speculation that the film was being delayed to December 2027 or pushed further ahead due to competition concerns.

The rumours had gained serious traction after multiple reports claimed the makers were reconsidering the release strategy to ensure ‘Spirit’ received a solo window at the box office. Since Salman Khan’s highly anticipated project with Nayanthara is expected to target the lucrative Eid holiday period in 2027, people began predicting a possible reshuffle of release dates among major pan-India films.

But according to the latest reports, there is currently no postponement planned for ‘Spirit’. The film itself has become one of the most anticipated Indian projects in recent years, primarily because it marks the first collaboration between Prabhas and Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the filmmaker behind blockbusters like ‘Animal’, ‘Kabir Singh’, and ‘Arjun Reddy’. Ever since the project was announced, fans have been eager to see what the director brings to the action genre with Prabhas in the lead.

Reports have described ‘Spirit’ as a massive-scale action entertainer, with Prabhas expected to play an intense and rugged character unlike anything he has done before. The film also carries enormous expectations because it comes at a crucial point in the actor’s career, following the mixed reception to some of his recent projects and the massive success of others in the pan-India market.

Interestingly, the release date chatter has also reignited discussion around Salman Khan’s upcoming collaboration with Nayanthara, currently being referred to as ‘SVC63’. While official details about the project remain tightly under wraps, the film is already generating huge curiosity due to the unusual pairing and the possibility of it arriving during the Eid festive frame – a period traditionally associated with Salman Khan blockbusters.

For now, though, the message from the ‘Spirit’ team appears loud and clear: the film is staying exactly where it was originally scheduled.

With Prabhas, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Salman Khan, and multiple big-ticket projects all eyeing 2027, fans are already predicting one of the biggest theatrical years Indian cinema has seen in a long time.
