Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor has officially shut down Halloween this year, paying the ultimate, most heart-warming tribute to her late mother, the legendary actress Sridevi. Taking a massive nostalgic trip down memory lane, the Bollywood actress recreated Sridevi's unforgettable look from the 1986 supernatural hit ‘Nagina’. Janhvi took to Instagram to share a meticulously crafted photo dump, declaring that while Halloween is often about spooky or funny outfits, “sometimes it’s a tribute”.

Asking her followers who could possibly be more iconic than “Mumma, Rishi uncle and Amrish sir,” Janhvi shared a series of side-by-side comparisons that have left the internet spellbound.

The undisputed centrepiece of the tribute is a flawless recreation of the original ‘Nagina’ theatrical poster. Janhvi completely transforms into the shape-shifting serpent Rajni, donning the signature white and pink lehenga. She nailed every single detail – right down to the heavy silver jewellery, the striking bindi, and those piercing, mesmerising blue contact lenses. With her hands raised in the classic snake-pose, she perfectly mirrors her mother's timeless aura.

Joining her in the frame is internet sensation Orry, who suits up in a crisp white blazer and brown tie to play Rishi Kapoor's character, Rajiv. Meanwhile, another friend goes all out as the terrifying snake charmer, Bhairavnath, complete with Amrish Puri's prominent unibrow, long hair, and heavy rudraksha beads.
Janhvi Kapoor didn't just stop at a studio poster; she painstakingly recreated candid behind-the-scenes movie stills down to the very last prop. One stunning side-by-side shot shows Janhvi sitting defensively on a stone floor, imitating Sridevi's posture, while her friend as Bhairavnath plays the been (flute) over her, and Orry watches intensely from the background.
Perhaps the most endearing recreation of the bunch is a classic on-set lunch break photo. Janhvi, Orry, and their co-star sit on the dusty ground balancing thalis of rice and curries, mimicking the exact relaxed expressions of Sridevi, Rishi Kapoor, and Amrish Puri as they grabbed a bite between takes. The dedication extended to specific film frames, with Orry and the Bhairavnath character recreating a tense, dramatic scene featuring a tall golden trishul against a red curtain.
Giving fans an exclusive glimpse into the intense glam process, Janhvi also dropped a couple of short, behind-the-scenes videos proving just how much effort went into this “lewk”. One clip shows her in the makeup chair, getting the final touches of a rosy, glossy lip tint carefully applied by a makeup artist's finger. Her flawless, dewy base, winged eyeliner, and heavily blushed cheeks highlight how closely her team studied the maximalist 80s aesthetic. A second video captures her completely in character; the camera slowly zooms in as she turns her head with a dramatic, intense glare. The flashing blue lenses and her striking profile instantly remind everyone of Sridevi’s commanding screen presence.
This wasn't just a costume; it was a beautifully executed, visual love letter to one of Indian cinema's most unforgettable eras. By stepping into Sridevi's legendary shoes, Janhvi Kapoor delivered a masterclass in Bollywood nostalgia.
