The Bollywood landscape is gearing up for a heavy dose of nostalgia mixed with high-octane action, as the makers of the upcoming film ‘Gunmaaster G9’ have just dropped a striking new motion poster. Scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on November 27, 2026, the film promises to bring Emraan Hashmi back to his quintessential mass-entertainer roots, but this time with a far more lethal, action-oriented edge. A look at the newly unveiled motion poster instantly establishes the dark, gritty tone of the movie.

The motion poster opens in pitch black before a vertically held, glowing-hot revolver barrel slices through the darkness, slowly illuminating half of Emraan Hashmi’s face. Sporting a rugged, battle-hardened look with a thick beard and grown-out messy hair, Emraan glares intensely through the smoke of the firearm. What immediately catches the eye are the intricate tattoos inked across his knuckles – featuring spiritual symbols like the 'Om' and a trident (Trishul) – hinting at a character who is deeply rooted yet completely unhinged.

The striking visual is accompanied by a punchy, old-school Hindi cinema dialogue written in bold typography: “Mere ishq ki duniya mein aaoge, toh iss duniya se jaaoge.” This single dramatic line perfectly encapsulates the classic Emraan Hashmi brand – a volatile cocktail of passionate romance and fatal consequences.

According to several reports, Emraan Hashmi is stepping into the shoes of a character named Eshwar. While the poster focuses heavily on this deadly "action avatar," industry reports reveal an intriguing dual-life premise. Eshwar reportedly lives a quiet, unassuming life as a dairy farmer, which serves as an elaborate cover for his secret, highly dangerous alter ego: Agent G9. When a rising threat endangers his loved ones, the farmer is forced to pick up his guns and embrace his violent past to protect his family.

Directed by Aditya Datt, ‘Gunmaaster G9’ is generating significant buzz not just for its spy-thriller storyline, but for its behind-the-scenes reunions. The project marks a major 20-year reunion for the trio of Emraan Hashmi, Aditya Datt, and music composer Himesh Reshammiya, who last collaborated on the massive 2005 hit ‘Aashiq Banaya Aapne’.

The casting choices further add to the film's intrigue. Genelia Deshmukh returns to the mainstream Hindi action-romance space as the female lead, while the usually comedic Aparshakti Khurana is set to surprise audiences in an out-and-out villainous role.

Produced by Deepak Mukut, Sangeeta Ahir, and Hunar Mukut under the banners of SRE Studio LLP and Soham Rockstar Entertainment, the film is positioned as one of the major theatrical events of late 2026. Distribution is being handled on a massive scale, with PEN Marudhar releasing the film across India and Phars Films taking charge of the overseas market.

Ultimately, the new motion poster of ‘Gunmaaster G9’ does exactly what it needs to do: it reintroduces Emraan Hashmi with a hardened, no-nonsense swagger while leaning heavily into the nostalgic appeal of his earlier hits. Whether the film can successfully balance its old-school masala sensibilities with the pacing of a modern spy-thriller remains to be seen, but this latest glimpse certainly ensures that audiences will be paying attention when it hits cinemas this November.
