BAFTA Awards 2023: 'All Quiet on the Western Front' wins seven accolades.

The BAFTA Awards were held in London on Sunday night and it was 'All Quiet on the Western Front" that dominated the ceremony with a record-breaking seven wins, including accolades in the Best Director, Best Film, and Best Film Not in the English language categories. As a result of this tally, the World War I epic now holds the record for a film not in the English language, reported Variety.

The previous record was held by the 1988 film 'Cinema Paradiso' which had won five BAFTAs.

'The Banshees of Inisherin' won the second largest number of awards as the Colin Farrell-starrer swept awards in both supporting actor categories with wins for Barry Keoghan and Kerry Condon.

Cate Blanchett and Austin Butler won the top acting awards for their respective roles in 'Tar' and 'Elvis'.

The ceremony which was held at the Royal Festival Hall in London was hosted by none other than 'Loki' actor Richard E Grant. He also made an Oscars 2022 joke referring to the slap gate between Will Smith and Chris Rock, saying: "Nobody on my watch gets slapped tonight – except on the back.”
