Alia Bhatt revisited archival Indian craftsmanship in a rose-gold silk saree.

Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt’s fashion journey has steadily evolved into one of quiet confidence and refined restraint. Known for her ability to balance contemporary silhouettes with heritage craftsmanship, the actress often gravitates towards looks that feel thoughtful rather than trend-driven. Whether she is championing modern Indian designers or revisiting archival pieces, Alia’s sartorial choices reflect an appreciation for timeless elegance. Her style leans into clean lines, nuanced textures and a soft, feminine palette — allowing craftsmanship and storytelling to take centre stage over excess, making her one of the most discerning dressers of her generation.

For this appearance, Alia Bhatt turned to an archival creation by veteran couturier Ritu Kumar, reviving a saree that dates back over three decades. Taking to Instagram, filmmaker and stylist Rhea Kapoor shared stunning photos of Alia in the black gown.

Crafted in rose-gold silk, the saree carried a subtle metallic sheen that caught the light effortlessly. The drape was enriched with delicate silver tikki embroidery, a signature Ritu Kumar detail, meticulously worked across the borders and pallu. Fine resham detailing, geometric buta motifs and a lattice pattern further elevated the textile, while traditional zardozi work lent depth and texture. The saree felt fluid yet structured, embodying the heritage of Indian couture while remaining visually light and graceful.

Complementing the drape, Alia paired the saree with a structured sweetheart-neckline blouse in a matching rose-gold tone. The blouse added definition to the look, offering a modern contrast to the traditional textile. Layered over the ensemble was a diaphanous, embroidered jacket that introduced volume and dimension. The sheer fabric, adorned with subtle embellishments, softened the overall silhouette and brought a sense of archival romance to the styling, staying true to the designer’s original vision.

Accessories were chosen to echo the richness of the ensemble without overwhelming it. Alia Bhatt wore a wide choker-style necklace and a matching kada from Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas, both featuring intricate craftsmanship that mirrored the saree’s detailing. A maang tikka from Sanzany Jewels completed the look, reinforcing its classic Indian aesthetic.

Her beauty look remained understated and luminous. Alia’s hair was parted cleanly down the middle and worn sleek, allowing the jewellery and neckline to shine.

Makeup focused on glowing skin with softly contoured cheeks, a gentle sheen on the eyelids and natural, peach-toned lips.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Alia Bhatt has two exciting projects lined up. She will next appear in ‘Alpha’, a spy thriller helmed by Shiv Rawail, as part of YRF’s spy universe. The movie also stars Sharvari and Bobby Deol in pivotal roles.

She’s also part of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Love and War’, where she stars alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.

Alia Bhatt was last seen in Vasan Bala’s ‘Jigra’, co-starring Vedang Raina.
