Akshay Kumar's 'Welcome To The Jungle' Goes Past Rs 60 Crore In Opening Weekend
'Welcome to the Jungle', starring Akshay Kumar, Disha Patani and more, has raced past the Rs 60 crore mark in its opening weekend.
Akshay Kumar is back and how. Success evaded Khiladi for several years, but 2026 has finally seen Akshay rediscovering his mojo. After giving a clean hit in the form of 'Bhooth Bangla', it looks like the Bollywood superstar has another winner at his disposal in the form of 'Welcome to the Jungle'. The Ahmed Khan directorial minted Rs 24.75 crore on Sunday, the third day of its release, taking the total nett collection to Rs 63.75 crore.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, 'Welcome 3' showed a 23.8 per cent increase on Sunday over the previous day's collections. The film began its box office journey with Rs 19 crore, including Rs 3.75 crore from paid previews.
'Welcome 3' then earned Rs 20 crore on Saturday, the second day of its release. The multi-starrer comedy thwarted competition from 'Cocktail 2' and 'Main Vaapas Aaunga' to emerge as the number-one choice among cinephiles.
Speaking of 'Welcome to the Jungle, the film boasts of a solid star cast, including Akshay, Suniel Shetty, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi, Jackie Shroff, Paresh Rawal, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Farida Jalal, Johny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Tusshar Kapoor, Rajpal Yadav, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Daler Mehndi, Aftab Shivdasani, Mukesh Tiwari, Yashpal Sharma, Kiran Kumar, Zakir Hussain, Vindu Dara Singh, Urvashi Rautela, Hemant Pandey, Brijendra Kala, Feroze Khan, late Pankaj Dheer, Puneet Issar, Sudesh Berry, Jeetu Verma, Vrihi Kodvara, Adityaa Singgh, and Bhagya Bhanushali.
The latest film is the third installment of the 'Welcome' franchise, which began in 2007. The franchise's second film, 'Welcome Back', was released in 2015.
The recent weekend was a bumper one for Bollywood as 'Cocktail 2 and 'Main Vaapas Aaunga' also collected a respectable amount of money. The Imtiaz Ali-directed project is going from strength to strength at the box office despite starting its journey with just Rs 1 crore.
According to Sacnilk, 'Main Vaapas Aaunga' collected Rs 4.50 crore on its third Sunday, taking the 17-day collection to Rs 46.30 crore. The film is expected to cross the Rs 50 crore mark by the end of this week.
On the other hand, 'Cocktail 2', starring Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna, earned Rs 4.40 crore on Sunday, the 10th day of its release, taking the total nett collection to Rs 83.15 crore. It is amazing to see that 'Main Vaapas Aaunga' minted more money on its third Sunday as compared to 'Cocktail 2' on its second Sunday.
All three films will receive fresh competition later this week when Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh's 'Alpha' releases in theatres. The next week will then see the release of 'Dhamaal 4', starring Ajay Devgn and others.
