Tom Cruise-Starrer 'Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part 1' Emerges Hollywood's Joint-Biggest Opener Of 2023 In India
Tom Cruise-Starrer 'Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part 1' is set to become the franchise's first movie to collect more than Rs 100 crore in India.

The world was eagerly waiting for the release of the seventh installment of the 'Mission: Impossible' series. The Tom Cruise-starrer 'Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part 1' released in Indian theatres on Wednesday (July 12) and as per industry tracker Sacnilk, the new Hollywood movie has collected Rs 12.50 crore on Day 1, making it the joint-biggest Hollywood opener of 2023 in India.
The opening day collections in India are on par with Vin Diesel and Jason Momoa-starrer 'Fast X' as it had also debuted with Rs 12.50 crore.
'Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part 1' has outperformed the likes of 'John Wick: Chapter 4' (Rs 10 crore), 'Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania' (Rs 9 crore), 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3' (Rs 7.30 crore), and 'Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny Box' (Rs 2 crores).
With this, the Christopher McQuarrie-directorial has also become the biggest opener from the 'Mission: Impossible' franchise in India.
The previous installment titled 'Fallout' had released in 2018, and it had opened to Rs 9.25 crore nett on Day 1, ultimately making Rs 80 crore in the country.
The latest Tom Cruise movie is expected to make around USD 85-95 million in North America and around USD 160 million internationally in its five days of release, and if this happens, the movie would have a global opening of USD 250 million.
However, the latest 'Mission: Impossible' movie is expected to face tough competition from Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer and Greta Gerwig’s Barbie from July 21.
As of now 'Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part 1' is currently sitting at 96 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes after 269 reviews.
