Tom Cruise-starrer 'Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part 1' has crossed the Rs 50 crore mark in India over its five-day extended opening weekend. The actioner collected Rs 17 crore on its first Sunday, as per industry tracker Sacnilk. For the unversed, the new Hollywood movie has been directed by Christopher McQuarrie and it is the seventh installment in the 'Mission: Impossible' franchise. As per the latest Hollywood movie news, the film had released in India on Wednesday (July 12) and it had opened to a collection of Rs 12.50 crore. 

The five-day collection now stands at Rs 63 crore in five days and the Tom Cruise-starrer is expected to easily cross the 6th installment’s lifetime collection of around 80 crore nett in its first week itself.

As a result, 'Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part 1' will become the highest-grossing movie of the franchise in India as well as Tom Cruise's career. 

The previous installment titled 'Fallout' had released in 2018, and it had opened to Rs 9.25 crore nett on Day 1, ultimately making Rs 80 crore in the country.

For the unversed, the best-performing Hollywood film in India of 2023 has been 'Fast X' which starred Vin Diesel and Jason Momoa. It collected Rs 108 crore in its lifetime. 

However, the latest 'Mission: Impossible' movie is expected to face tough competition from Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer and Greta Gerwig’s Barbie from July 21. 

Talking about Hindi movies, Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani's 'SatyaPrem Ki Katha' saw a jump in collections in the third weekend and the movie has now crossed the Rs 75 crore mark at the domestic box office.
