‘Munjya’ Goes Past Rs 30 Crore, Expected To Give Tough Competition To Kartik Aaryan’s ‘Chandu Champion’

Sharvari Wagh, Abhay Verma and Mona Singh’s new Hindi movie ‘Munjya’ is showing no signs of slowing down. The new Hindi film is expected to give stiff competition to Kartik Aaryan's upcoming Hindi movie ‘Chandu Champion’, which is slated to release in cinemas on June 14, 2024. As per early estimates posted by industry tracker Sacnilk, ‘Munjya’ minted Rs 3.75 crore on Wednesday, the sixth day of its release. The nett domestic collection of ‘Munjya’ now stands at Rs 31.15 crore.
On Wednesday, the new Hindi movie had an overall 17.10 per cent Hindi occupancy. ‘Munjya’ had an occupancy of 23.28 per cent in the night shows, while in the evening, the occupancy was recorded at 18.33 per cent.
Speaking of Kartik Aaryan's ‘Chandu Champion’, directed by Kabir Khan, the film has so far sold 13,273 tickets for the opening day, grossing Rs 39.09 lakh, as per Sacnilk.
For the unversed, ‘Munjya’ had earned Rs 8.43 crore on Sunday after making Rs 7.40 crore on Saturday. On the opening day, 'Munjya' had collected Rs 4.21 crore.
'Munjya' has been directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, and it has been bankrolled by Dinesh Vijan and 'Stree' and 'Bhediya' director Amar Kaushik.
Maddock Films on Monday also announced that they will be unveiling the first teaser of Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-starrer 'Stree 2' exclusively in theatres, attached to the screenings of 'Munjya'.
Talking about 'Mr & Mrs Mahi', which released in cinemas on May 31, earned Rs 0.90 crore on Wednesday, the 13th day of its release. The 11-day collection now stands at Rs 32.55 crore.
'Mr & Mrs Mahi' tells the love story of a couple, who find love, after discovering their passion for the sport of cricket. The film has a reported budget of Rs 40 crore.
Talking about Rajkummar Rao's ‘Srikanth’, which was released in cinemas on May 10, collected Rs 0.15 crore on Wednesday, the 34th day of its release. The total nett domestic collection of the film now stands at Rs 47.43 crore.
For the unversed, ‘Srikanth’ also stars Alaya F, Sharad Kelkar and Jyotika. In the film, Rajkummar Rao portrays the role of Srikanth Bolla, an industrialist who fearlessly pursued his dreams despite his visual impairment.
