‘Pushpa 2’ Poised For Bumper Opening, Film Sells More Than 7 Lakh Tickets

Sukumar’s ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’, starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil, is poised to deliver a solid start at the box office. The pan-India film, which is set to release in theatres on December 5, might just break all records to register the biggest opening ever for any Indian film. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, the advance booking for the movie is going through the roof and ‘Pushpa 2’ has already collected Rs 22.86 crore for Day 1.
With three days still left for the release, ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ can surpass everyone's expectations. More than 7 lakh tickets across all languages have already been sold for the film’s opening day of its release.
For the unversed, ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ will release in 2D, 3D, IMAX, and 4DX formats. As per Sacnilk, the Hindi version has so far sold more than 3 lakh tickets, while the Telugu version is also nearing the 3 lakh tickets mark.
It is important to mention that the Hindi version is currently outperforming the Telugu version and this is unprecedented, considering ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ is originally a Telugu movie. As of now, the Malayalam version is outperforming the Tamil version.
The opening weekend collection of the Hindi version of ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ was around Rs 13 crore mark, and ‘Pushpa 2’ will likely cruise past this number on Day 1. Trade analysts are predicting ‘Pushpa 2’ to collect almost Rs 60 crore in just the Hindi version on Day 1.
Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Kamal Haasan-starrer ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, the highest-grossing film of the year, had made Rs 61 crore in advance booking for Day 1. It eventually went on to make Rs 95.3 on Day 1 of its release.
Now, it remains to be seen whether ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ will manage to go past the Rs 100 crore mark domestically on Day 1.
As per Indian Express, the Telangana government has also allowed for a price hike in tickets for ‘Pushpa 2’, and this might just facilitate a massive opening for the film.
For the unversed, ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ had released in cinemas on December 17, 2021. The movie emerged as a massive rage in the country, and everything about the film turned out to be smash-hit.
Speaking about ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’, the pan-India project also stars Rao Ramesh, Sunil, Ajay Ghosh, Dhananjaya, and Prathap Bhandari.
Earlier, Rashmika Mandanna had spoken about the much-awaited film, promising that it would be “bigger” than ever.
“I can promise you that Pushpa 2 is going to be so much bigger. We gave some madness in the first film; in part 2, we know we have a responsibility because people have so much expectation from the film. We are constantly and consciously trying to deliver that,” she had told Pinkvilla.
