‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Earns Rs 4,565 Crore Worldwide In Opening Week

There is no stopping ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ at the box office. The new Hollywood film, starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, is doing phenomenal business in India as well. ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ on Wednesday minted Rs 5.50 crore in India, as per early estimates posted by industry tracker Sacnilk. The total nett collection of the film in India now stands at Rs 84.50 crore. The new Marvel movie is expected to cross the Rs 100 crore mark by the end of this week.

In India, ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ has already crossed the lifetime collection of Bollywood releases as ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’, ‘Article 370’, ‘Chandu Champion’ and ‘Bad Newz’.

In terms of global box office, ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ has already grossed USD 545.80 million (Rs 4,565 crore) since its international debut on July 24. As a result, the film is now the fastest movie of 2024 to record this much collection.

‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ will soon breach the collection of ‘Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire’ (USD 567.60 million), to emerge as the fourth-biggest grosser of 2024.

The film is projected to hit the USD 1 billion mark by the end of the next week, becoming the second film of 2024 to do so after 'Inside Out 2'.

‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is likely to remain the top choice for audiences despite two new Hindi film releases -- Ajay Devgn-Tabu starrer ‘Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha’ and Janhvi Kapoor’s ‘Ulajh’, set to arrive in cinemas this Friday, August 2.

The new Marvel film is set to have a comfortable run till August 15. On Independence Day 2024, three new movies – ‘Stree 2’, ‘Khel Khel Mein’ and ‘Vedaa’ are still to release.

Speaking of Nag Ashwin's 'Kalki 2898 AD', which released in cinemas in June, earned Rs 0.95 crore on Wednesday, the 35th day of its release. The total nett domestic collection of the film now stands at Rs 634.95 crore, as per Sacnilk.

The pan-India film now needs just Rs 5 crore to go past the lifetime collection of Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi-starrer 'Jawan'.

'Jawan', which released in cinemas on September 7, 2023, earned Rs 640 crore, across all languages in India.
