Akshay Kumar’s ‘Housefull 5’ Continues To Rake In The Moolah, Races Towards Rs 150 Crore Club
‘Housefull 5’, starring Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, and Abhishek Bachchan, is continuing to perform well at the box office despite receiving poor reviews.

The recently released comedy thriller ‘Housefull 5’, starring Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Jacqueliene Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri and Soundarya Sharma, is continuing to perform well at the box office. The new Hindi movie, which opened to poor reviews from critics, is racing towards the Rs 150 crore mark in India. After several box office duds and average grossers, Akshay Kumar seems to have a box-office winner on his hands. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, ‘Housefull 5’ earned Rs 10.75 crore on Tuesday, the fifth day of its release.
The film, which recorded a collection of Rs 13 crore on its first Monday, registered a dip of just 17.31 per cent on the fifth day of its release. The total nett domestic collection of the film now stands at Rs 111.25 crore.
The Tarun Mansukhani directorial registered earnings of Rs 24 crore, Rs 31 crore, and Rs 32.5 crore on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, respectively.
‘Housefull 5’ has already beaten the lifetime collection of Akshay Kumar's 2018 film 'Gold', directed by Reema Kagti. The new comedy film has also surpassed the earnings of the franchise's two previous installments.
'Housefull 3' minted Rs 109.14 crore in 2016, while Sajid Khan's 'Housefull 2' collected Rs 106 crore in 2012. The fifth installment of the comedy franchise is now expected to cross the lifetime earning of ‘Sky Force’ on Wednesday.
The new Hindi movie is also benefitting from having two versions playing in the theatres. 'Housefull' has released in two versions - 5A and 5B. The entire film is the same barring the ending and climax.
‘Housefull 5’, which enjoyed a solo Hindi release last week, has one more week to rake in the moolah before it faces stiff competition from RS Prasanna’s 'Sitaare Zameen Par', starring Aamir Khan in the lead role.
The upcoming Hindi film is a spiritual sequel to the hit 2008 film 'Taare Zameen Par'.
Coming back to 'Housefull 5', Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, and Abhishek Bachchan are the main suspects for a murder in the film.
The film also stars Chitrangada Singh, Shreyas Talpade, Johnny Lever, Sanjay Dutt, Fardeen Khan, Jackie Shroff, Chunky Panday, and more.
