Indian filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s niece and actress Sharmin Segal, who recently featured in his debut web series ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’, has been at the receiving end of constant trolling for her performance in the Netflix show. A section of social media users opined that she did not deserve the role and got it only due to nepotism. The negativity turned so sour that Sharmin Segal even switched off comments on some of her Instagram posts.
Apart from her acting in ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’, she was also criticised for her rude behaviour and comments towards her show’s co-stars during interviews. After breaking her silence on the criticism she received for her performance in the new Netflix series, Sharmin Segal recently interacted with Instant Bollywood.
Taking to Instagram, Instant Bollywood shared a video of Sharmin Segal talking about her ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’ co-star Aditi Rao Hydari.
Check out the video below:
In the video, Sharmin Segal said, “I think people would think that everyone was always looking out for themselves. But that was not the case. There were so many times that Aditi helped me like she was just there for me, checking in on me while we were shooting. Just like fixing my hair sometimes. Like she was always very helpful.”
She added, “There’s a certain amount of like camaraderie because every person has been in the other’s person shoe and every person wants to do the best. Not just like the women, all the men were also very sweet… like Jason was very helpful, Taha was vey sweet.”
Soon after the video was shared online, several social media users reacted to the video. One user wrote, “Damage control.”
Another one said, “Fix kr diya ? Bol kr aesa.”
A third user commented, “What the use of saying such nice words now..you already showed your true colors.”
“Trying to make up for the previous nonsense that she spewed,” another comment read.
