Sanjay Leela Bhansali's new Hindi web series 'Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar', starring Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sharmin Segal and Manisha Koirala, is currently streaming on Netflix. Despite mixed to negative reviews, the new Hindi web series is enjoying great viewership, and as per the official numbers released by Netflix, 'Heeramandi' has made India proud in "43 countries".

In the latest entertainment news, Netflix India has uploaded a video on YouTube in which Aditi Rao Hydari, Manisha Koirala and Sharmin Segal faced off against Sonakshi Sinha and Sanjeeda Shaikh. The entire segment was moderated by comedian and 'Bigg Boss 17' winner Munawar Faruqui. 

Sonakshi Sinha was seen roasting Sharmin during the segment. In the clip, Sonakshi can be seen claiming that the latter showed up to the new Hindi web series 'Heeramandi' set unprepared.

"Sharmin ki baari. Sharim ko har din set ka wrap jaldi karwana tha, raat me jaldi so jaati thi, agle din school bhi toh jana hota tha," said Sonakshi. 

"Sharmin chahe jitne Gen Z words rat jaaye, kaash kisi din set pe aane se pehle apne dialogues bhi yaad kar leti," she added.

When her turn came to roast the other team, Sharmin Segal said that Sonakshi is being "jaali" based on her character's moves in the show.

While roasting Sanjeeda Shaikh, Sharmin Segal brought up the word "aukaat", and this visibly shocked the famous TV actress, who was also seen in Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone's 'Fighter' this year. 

For the unversed, Sonakshi Sinha played the role of Fareedan in the new Hindi web series while Sharmin Segal, who is the niece of Bhansali, essayed the character of Alamzeb.

Sharmin Segal is being blasted on social media for her portrayal in the new Hindi web series, and several cinephiles are not impressed with her performance. 

‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’ also stars Taha Shah Badussha, Shekhar Suman, Fardeen Khan and Adhyayan Suman.

‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’ encompasses themes of love, power, vengeance, and liberation. Set in the era of India's struggle for independence in the 1940s, 'Heeramandi' explores the cultural nuances of the red-light district in Lahore known for its courtesans and their clientele.

The new Hindi web series’ music is helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. For the unversed, the total run-time of the eight-episode ‘Heeramandi’ is seven hours and 19 minutes.
