The trailer of ‘The Kerala Story 2’ was released recently, and it wasted no time in setting a dark, heavy and unsettling tone from the start. It opened with a stark declaration that India could become an Islamic state within the next 25 years – a claim that immediately framed the narrative in a tense light. From there, the story expanded beyond Kerala, moving into Rajasthan and other parts of the country. One of the early sequences featured a distressed Hindu family attempting to register a POCSO case.

They alleged that their 16-year-old daughter was coerced into converting to another faith, setting the stage for a storyline centred around forced conversions and alleged exploitation.

The trailer then moved across multiple regions and characters. It introduced a Hindu girl from Madhya Pradesh who appeared to be stepping into marriage. However, as the narrative unfolded, her circumstances shifted dramatically, and she was shown being pressured towards a forced religious conversion.
In Kerala, another relationship developed under visible strain. A Muslim man urged his Hindu girlfriend to move in with him, but when she refused to renounce her religious identity, tensions escalated. What began as emotional conflict intensified into violent confrontations.

Producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah has stated that the film’s narrative draws from six to seven months of extensive research. According to him, the team examined Indian court documents as part of their preparation process.
Backed by Sunshine Pictures, the makers shared the trailer on social media with a pointed message: “They targeted our daughters... This time, we will not remain silent.”
The Kerala Story 2: Release Date, How Much Did 2023 Film Earn
The film is slated for a theatrical release on February 27, 2026. The first installment, ‘The Kerala Story’, which starred Adah Sharma in the lead, released in 2023 and became a major box-office success, earning Rs 286.5 crore in India.

‘The Kerala Story 2’ marks the big-screen debut of former child artist and television actress Aditi Bhatia. The film also features Ulka Gupta and Aishwarya Ojha in leading roles.
Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Kamakhya Narayan Singh, the project is produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah and co-produced by Aashin A Shah and Ravichand Nallappa. The screenplay is written by Amarnath Jha and Vipul Amrutlal Shah.
