Everyone seems to be talking about 'Jawan' and Shah Rukh Khan. The craze for the new Atlee movie is phenomenal and ‘Jawan’ is expected to make an earth-shattering start at the global box office. 2023 has been solid for mass cinema as movies like 'Pathaan' and 'Gadar 2' have wreaked havoc at the box office. But it is fair to say that Amitabh Bachchan is the OG when it comes to mass cinema as he has starred in movies like 'Don', 'Deewar' and 'Shahenshah'. In the latest entertainment news, Amitabh Bachchan on Thursday recalled the craze for 'Shahenshah' when it released in theatres in 1988.

A fan first wrote on X, "While #Jawaan is generating excitement, a few decades ago a film had unprecedented craze! 20000 people thronged to the first show! SIMULTANEOUS video had 5 day advance booking! 7am shows were added. Video parlours were screening the film! Shahenshah! #AmitabhBachchan #bollywood."

Sharing this post on his account, Big B posted on X, "those were the days .. and there were many more such days .. absolutely unprecedented .. !! humbled and filled with pride."

Former India cricket captain Sourav Ganguly also commented on the post, saying: "That was and is the magic of Amitabh bachchan.. I have seen shahenshah 5 times @SrBachchan."

Talking about 'Jawan', the movie has been receiving good reviews from all corners. The Indian Express' review of the film states: "Shah Rukh Khan delivers a massy entertainer with strong political messaging."

‘Jawan’, directed by Atlee, also features Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Sunil Grover, Yogi Babu, and Ridhi Dogra, among others. The new movie, produced by Gauri Khan and Gaurav Verma under Red Chillies Entertainment, also stars Deepika Padukone in a cameo appearance.

Last month, SRK was spotted visiting Vaishno Devi temple in Jammu and Kashmir amid tight security ahead of the ‘Jawan' audio launch in Chennai. However, this was not his first visit to the temple. Previously, he had offered prayers at Vaishno Devi temple before the release of ‘Pathaan’ in January 2023.
