Bollywood actor Sidharth Malhotra and his family are navigating an immensely difficult time following the passing of his father, Sunil Malhotra. The actor had earlier confirmed the heartbreaking news through an emotional social media tribute. Now, his wife, actress Kiara Advani, has also shared a deeply personal note mourning the loss of her father-in-law. On Wednesday, Kiara took to Instagram and posted photographs from her wedding reception with Sidharth, where the couple can be seen smiling alongside his parents.

She described Sidharth Malhotra’s father warmth as constant, his generosity effortless, and his love for his family as the centre of everything he did. She reflected on how he always showed up, listened with intention, and remembered even the smallest details.

In her moving message, Kiara added that he gave selflessly without expecting anything in return. She said his stories, laughter, quiet strength, and gentle heart would remain with her forever. Calling his legacy one of gentleness, integrity, and unwavering love, she wrote that it lives on through his children, grandchildren, and everyone blessed to know him. She concluded her note by saying he would be forever missed, loved, and remembered.
Both Kiara and Sidharth are currently in Delhi to be with their family during this period of mourning. The couple has received an outpouring of support from fans and members of the film fraternity. Jacqueline Fernandez commented that her prayers are with them during this difficult time, while Karan Johar and Manish Malhotra shared heart emojis in solidarity. Fans also flooded the comments section with messages praying for his soul and offering strength to the family.
Sidharth Malhotra’s father, Sunil Malhotra, reportedly passed away in Delhi on February 14. Following the completion of the last rites, Sidharth has remained in the capital with his loved ones. A source close to the family told Hindustan Times that while the rituals have been performed, the couple will continue to spend time in Delhi with their family.
The loss has deeply impacted Sidharth, who shared a close bond with his father and often referred to him as his “favourite hero” and a lifelong inspiration. A former Merchant Navy captain, Sunil Malhotra played a crucial role in shaping Sidharth’s upbringing and career, keeping him grounded despite the pressures of fame.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Sidharth will next be seen in ‘Vvan: Force of The Forest’, directed by Arunabh Kumar and Deepak Mishra. The film also stars Tamannaah Bhatia and is slated for a theatrical release later this year.
Kiara, on the other hand, is awaiting the release of ‘Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups’, directed by Geetu Mohandas. The fantasy action thriller also features Yash, Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi and Rukmini Vasanth. The film is set to clash at the box office with ‘Dhurandhar 2’, releasing on March 19.
