‘Don 3’ Confirmed! Ritesh Sidhwani Reveals Farhan Akhtar To Finish Scripting Soon On Shah Rukh Khan-Starrer
Indian film producer Ritesh Sidhwani has revealed that Shah Rukh Khan-starrer ‘Don 3’ is in its scripting stage and Farhan Akhtar is about to finish writing it soon.
Ever since the second installment of megastar Shah Rukh Khan-starrer action thriller ‘Don’ was released in theatres, his fans have been eagerly waiting for an update on ‘Don 3’. Over a decade after ‘Don 2’ hit the theatres, there’s finally a piece of good news for all those waiting for an update on the third installment on the popular film franchise. The film's producer, Ritesh Sidhwani, has confirmed that ‘Don 3’ is currently in the scripting stage.
The third part of ‘Don’ will feature Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role. It will be directed by Farhan Akhtar. Ritesh is Farhan's partner at their production house, Excel Entertainment.
In a new interview with PTI, Ritesh Sidhwani added that so far he is not aware of the plot details of the much-awaited movie.
Ritesh Sidhwani said, "Till my partner, Farhan Akhtar, finishes writing it, we won’t do anything. Right now, he is in the phase of completing the script... Even all of us are eagerly waiting to see Don.”
Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s banner Excel Entertainment bought the rights of the Amitabh Bachchan’s 1978 film of the same name and remade it with Shah Rukh and Priyanka Chopra Jonas in the lead.
The first installment of ‘Don’ released in 2006 and the second installment came out in 2011 with SRK and Priyanka reprising their characters. Both the films were directed by Farhan Akhtar.
Ritesh Sidhwani, known for producing projects like ‘Dil Chahta Hai’, ‘Rock On’, ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ and ‘Raees’, is currently promoting the banner’s web series ‘Dahaad’, which released on Amazon Prime Video.
Directed by Reema Kagti and Ruchika Oberoi, ‘Dahaad’ is set in a small town of Rajasthan and revolves around the investigation of the gruesome murder cases of several women led by sub-inspector Anjali Bhaati (Sonakshi Sinha).
Talking about Shah Rukh Khan, he marked his comeback with the 2023 release ‘Pathaan’, which also starred Deepika Padukone and John Abraham.
Following the success of the spy thriller, SRK is looking forward to his next, ‘Jawan’, which will hit theatres on September 7, 2023. He will also be seen in Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘Dunki’ alongside Taapsee Pannu. ‘Dunki’ is also expected to release in 2023 only.
