Salman Khan has announced his next project with Vamshi Paidipally.

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and Eid releases have long been inseparable, with the actor turning the festive window into his personal box office stronghold. However, 2026 marked a rare break from tradition, as there was no Salman Khan release lighting up theatres this year. Instead, the spotlight shifted to Ranveer Singh and Aditya Dhar’s ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, which dominated the box office. While Bhai stayed away from the big-screen race this Eid, he didn’t leave fans empty-handed for long, announcing his next project shortly after the festivities. This new project comes after ‘Maatrubhumi’, which is yet to release.

Speaking of Vamshi Paidipally, he had made his directorial debut with the Prabhas-starrer 'Munna'. He is known to helm projects with South superstars such as 'Brindavanam' with Jr NTR, 'Yevadu' with Ram Charan. However, his biggest hit remains 'Maharshi', which fetched him a National Film Award. Vamshi also directed Tamil superstar Vijay in the blockbuster 'Varisu'.

Coming to Dil Raju, he has produced over 60 films and won two National Film Awards for producing the Telugu films 'Maharshi' and 'Shatamanam Bhavati'.

Returning to Salman, he will next be seen in the war drama 'Maatrubhumi'. The project has been produced by Salman Khan under the banner of Salman Khan Films and directed by Apoorva Lakhia. The Hindi film will feature Salman as an Indian Army Colonel leading his troops against a bigger Chinese force.

The film was earlier set to release in theatres on April 17, but was postponed. A new date has not yet been officially confirmed. Earlier, the film was titled 'The Battle of Galwan', but the name was changed.

Salman was last seen in AR Murugadoss' 'Sikandar', which bombed at the box office. Salman's last clean hit was 'Bharat', released in cinemas in 2019. The last few releases such as 'Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan' and 'Tiger 3' performed underwhelmingly at the box office.
