Why Did Salman Khan Not Feature In Netflix Documentary ‘The Roshans’? Reason Revealed
Rakesh Roshan has spoken about Salman Khan’s absence from the Netflix documentary ‘The Roshans’.

Rakesh Roshan, the father of Hrithik Roshan, has a solid filmography. He is known for films like ‘Koii..Mil Gaya’, ‘Krrish’ and ‘Karan Arjun’. One of the biggest hits of his career ‘Karan Arjun’ featured Bollywood megastars Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. The Hindi film, co-starring Kajol and Mamta Kulkarni, was released in theatres in 1995. Recently, Netflix India released a generational documentary on Hrithik Roshan's family, titled ‘The Roshans’. In the documentary, SRK did make an appearance as he talked about working with Rakesh Roshan and Hrithik Roshan. However, Salman Khan was nowhere to be seen.
Now, in an interview with News18 Showsha, Rakesh Roshan has opened up about Salman Khan's absence from the documentary.
“I did call him up but he was stuck in his own problems and that’s why he couldn’t make it,” said Rakesh Roshan.
For the unversed, Salman Khan has received multiple death threats from jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
“Salman really wanted to be a part of it and he would give us his dates but cancel it at the last moment. He has been going through the issues that we’re seeing going on these days. We all recognised that he wasn’t there. If he was there, he could’ve shared some more light on us and his experiences during Karan Arjun,” Rakesh Roshan added.
Ever since ‘Karan Arjun’, SRK and Salman Khan have not co-starred in a movie together. However, they have made cameos in each other's films.
When asked if he could bring them together once again, Rakesh Roshan said, “If I’ve a good story with me where their tracks run parallel as it was in Karan Arjun, I can definitely bring them back.”
For the unversed, ‘The Roshans’ focuses on the life of music composer Roshan Lal Nagrath, his sons Rakesh and Rajesh Roshan, and grandson Hrithik Roshan.
The documentary featured several Bollywood celebs such as Asha Bhosle, Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Preity Zinta, and many others.
Meanwhile, Salman Khan is now gearing up for the release of his upcoming film ‘Sikandar’. The movie will mark his maiden collaboration with Rashmika Mandanna. It will also star Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi, Prateik Patil Babbar and Sathyaraj. The highly anticipated film is expected to release on Eid 2025.
