Watch: Angry Nana Patekar Walks Out Of ‘O Romeo’ Trailer Launch After 60-Minute Wait
Nana Patekar walked out of his own film’s trailer launch after co-stars arrived late, proving punctuality still matters to the veteran actor.
In an industry where Bollywood time often means arriving hours late, veteran actor Nana Patekar proved he is still a strict observer of the clock. On Wednesday, the 75-year-old actor made a swift exit from the trailer launch of his upcoming film, ‘O Romeo’, after his co-stars failed to arrive on schedule. The event, held at a prominent Mumbai multiplex, was scheduled to begin at noon.
True to his reputation as a stickler for time, Nana Patekar arrived promptly at 12:00 pm. However, after waiting for a full hour for the rest of the team to assemble, his patience wore thin.

According to reports, the film's leads – Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri – did not arrive at the venue until 1:30 PM, nearly 90 minutes after the scheduled start time. By then, the veteran actor had already decided he had seen enough.
Footage circulating online captured the tense moments of Nana Patekar’s departure. The videos showed the actor walking briskly toward the auditorium exit and elevator. Organizers reportedly pleaded with him and tried to cajole him into staying. A frustrated Nana Patekar pointed to his watch and gestured a firm "no" to the event coordinators as he entered the lift.
Despite the awkwardness of an actor leaving his own trailer launch, director Vishal Bhardwaj addressed the situation with grace and humour during the event. Vishal Bhardwaj confirmed that Nana Patekar told him: “Ek ghanta mujhe wait karwaya, main jaa raha hoon” (They made me wait for an hour; I am leaving).
Vishal Bhardwaj, who has been friends with Nana Patekar for 27 years despite this being their first professional collaboration, compared the actor to a “naughty schoolboy”.
“Nana yahan se chale gaye hain, phir bhi unke liye bolna chahiye. Nana jo hain unke andar ek badmash school ka baccha hota hai na jaise class mein jo bully karta hai sabko, jo sabse zyada entertain karta hai aur jiske saath sab rehna chahte hai. Toh Nana ke andar woh hai,” the filmmaker said.
“27 saal ki humari dosti hai aur ab pehli baar saath mein kaam kiya. Agar woh hote toh bohut accha hota. But woh apne signature style mein uthe, ki, 'Ek ghanta mujhe wait karwaya, main jaraha hoon.' Hume kuch bura nahi laga because we know this is what makes Nana, Nana Patekar,” he added.

While the launch was overshadowed by the drama, the buzz remains high for the film itself. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, ‘O Romeo’ is described as a romantic action-thriller based on true events. Set against the gritty backdrop of the Mumbai underworld, it promises a high-intensity performance from Shahid Kapoor.
The film marks the fourth collaboration between Vishal Bhardwaj and Shahid Kapoor (following ‘Kaminay’, ‘Haider’, and ‘Rangoon’). Apart from Nana Patekar, Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri, the upcoming movie also stars Avinash Tiwary, Disha Patani, Vikrant Massey, Tamannaah Bhatia, Farida Jalal and Aruna Irani. ‘O Romeo’ is scheduled to hit theatres during Valentine’s Week on February 13, 2026.
