Karan Johar expressed his longing for a partner after he broke down while watching Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s wedding video on 'KWK 8'.
Karan Johar, who has been basking in the success of his recent directorial venture ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’, returned with an all-new season of his uber-popular talk show ‘Koffee With Karan’. Over several seasons, Karan Johar has hosted guests like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Priyanka Chopra, and Alia Bhatt, among many others. The show is famous for its 'Rapid Fire' round and how Karan Johar manages to get candid responses from his guests. The talk show is also known for sparking many controversies and dating rumours.
In the first episode of ‘Koffee With Karan 8’, which went live on Thursday, Bollywood’s power couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh appeared as guests. It was truly one of the most memorable episodes ever in ‘KWK’s’ history as Deepika, Ranveer, and KJo indulged in some deep conversations about relationships, mental health, and life in general.
In one of the biggest highlights from the premiere episode of ‘KWK 8’, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s wedding video was also showcased to the world, and it was all things dreamy!
After the unseen wedding footage was over, Karan Johar was seen tearing up and revealing that he feels lonely in life.
An emotional Karan Johar said, “Oh no, I'm sorry to cry. There is a line in my film that aisa lag raha ki dil ka pet bhar gaya hai. I just feel, I am not in a relationship and I am kind of single. It just makes me feel like what I am losing out on not being in one. You feel like, you don't have a partner of your own to share, the nothings of your day with. And every day I wake up, a little part of me feels that vacuum, I have my kids and mom, but when I see this and I see you, and I know relationships are tough.”
"But that soul connection with a person, that you can wake up with, hold their hand and see your day through tough times. I don't think I've had a moment like this on my own show. I feel like… I felt so happy for you, and I felt so alone yet. And I hope this manifests into like… I hope I have a story to tell," he added.

Reacting to KJo’s emotional moment, Deepika Padukone said, “Karan, I want to tell you that you will when the time is right and it will all fall into place. And I think we know a lot of people today who just rush into marriage and relationships because of this feeling of like, ‘Oh, everyone seems to be moving on.’ But the reverse is also true, which is a lot of people are stuck in a relationship. So if you know you have found the right person, only then it is worth it or otherwise you are better on your own.”
The first episode of ‘Koffee With Karan 8’ with Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone is now streaming on Disney+ Hotstar. A new episode will air on the streaming platform every Thursday midnight.
