Karan Johar hosted the last episode of ‘Koffee With Karan 8’ where he gave out the ‘Koffee’ awards.

‘Koffee With Karan’ is an uber-popular talk show, hosted by ace director and producer Karan Johar. Over several seasons, Karan Johar has hosted guests like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, among many others. The show is quite famous for its ‘Rapid Fire’ round and how Karan Johar manages to get candid responses from his guests. The talk show has also remained in the headlines for sparking many controversies and dating rumours.
Karan Johar returned with the eighth season of ‘KWK’ in October 2023. And from the very first episode, featuring Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, the show trended heavily on social media. After multiple engaging episodes, ‘KWK 8’ came to an end recently. The season finale saw Sumukhi Suresh, Tanmay Bhatt, Danish Sait, and Kusha Kapila coming together to give away ‘Koffee Awards’.
Deepika and Ranveer, who opened the season, won the Special Jury award. The celebrity couple were at their candid best during the episode. They talked about being secretly engaged, their proposal, their dating life, Deepika Padukone’s battle with mental health and more. Karan Johar also shared the couple’s wedding video almost five years after they tied the knot.
Apart from taking home the Special Jury award, Deepika Padukone also won the Best Performance Female for being real and authentic throughout the episode. Her candid confessions about her dating life, her take on marriage, her struggle with depression and more were definitely the show’s highlight. She was frequently described as “brave” for her candid responses on the show.
Saif Ali Khan, who graced the ‘Koffee’ couch with his mother-actress Sharmila Tagore, bagged the Best Performance Male award. From his jokes about fights over inheritance to talking about his initial days in the entertainment industry and more, this episode was truly an entertaining watch.
Varun Dhawan appeared on ‘Koffee With Karan 8’ with his ‘Student of the Year’ co-star Sidharth Malhotra. The Bollywood actor won the ‘Best Koffee Burn’ award for roasting Karan Johar.
Varun Dhawan told Karan Johar, “You know, in one of my dad's films, there is a character named Shaadiram ghar jode, and he is Karan Johar ghar tode.” He also called Karan Johar Komolika (a popular villain in Ekta Kapoor's show ‘Kasautii Zindagi Kay’).
The award for the most fun episode went to Kajol and Rani Mukerji. The episode felt like a mini ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ reunion minus the leading man – Shah Rukh Khan. According to the jury of the awards, Kajol and Rani Mukerji were absolute “queens” on the episode. From Kajol's hilarious one-liners and infectious laughter to Rani Mukerji calling out Karan Johar, to the never-ending laughing sessions and the ‘K3G’ nostalgia, this episode was truly an entertaining watch.
Ananya Panday, who appeared on ‘KWK 8’ with Sara Ali Khan, bagged the ‘Best Rapid Fire’ award. She addressed the dating rumours with Aditya Roy Kapur in a funny and witty way as she said, “I am feeling very Ananya Coy Kapur.” This reply from Ananya Panday won her the award.
Karan Johar called Ananya Panday, who was rather surprised as she did not win the rapid fire round during her episode with Sara Ali Khan. “I’d like to thank a certain ‘boy Kapur’ for that,” Ananya said.
The guest list for ‘Koffee With Karan 8’ also included Zeenat Aman, Neetu Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Rohit Shetty, Vicky Kaushal, Kiara Advani, Janhvi Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur and Arjun Kapoor.
