Kapil Sharma recently hosted the team of 'Baby John' on his Netflix show.

Comedian and actor Kapil Sharma has been facing severe scrutiny over the past few days after he seemingly made a joke about ‘Jawan’ director Atlee's appearance on his Netflix comedy show ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’. However, Kapil Sharma has now reacted to the constant backlash, asking people to watch the entire episode before making conclusions and giving their verdict. Taking to X, Kapil Sharma reacted to the controversy, by sharing a post, which read, “Kapil Sharma subtly insults Atlee's looks? Atlee responds like a boss: Don't judge by appearance, judge by the heart.”

The post also had a clip of the conversation of the duo from the comedy show.

Sharing the post, Kapil Sharma wrote, “Dear sir, can you pls explain me where n when I talked about looks in this video ? pls don’t spread hate on social media (folded hand emoji) thank you. (guys watch n decide by yourself, don’t follow any body’s tweet like a sheep).”

For the unversed, Atlee along with 'Baby John' actors Varun Dhawan, Keerthy Suresh and Wamiqa Gabbi, recently made an appearance on the comedy show. During one segment, Kapil asked Atlee, "When you get to meet a star for the first time, do they ask, where is Atlee?”

Responding to Kapil Sharma, Atlee said, "In a way I understood your question. I’ll try to answer. I’m actually very thankful to AR Murugadoss sir because he produced my first film. He asked for a script, but he didn’t see how I was looking or whether I’m capable of it or not. But, he loved my narration. I think the world should see that. We should not judge by appearance. You have to judge by your heart.”

This question of Kapil did not go down well with the netizens, as they found it offensive and in poor taste, with several users dubbing Kapil's remark as “racist”.

Earlier, singer Chinmayi Sripaada had also called out Kapil Sharma, saying, “Will they never stop these crass and racist jibes at his skin colour in the name of ‘comedy’? Someone with the amount of influence and clout like Kapil Sharma saying something like this is disappointing and unfortunately, not surprising.”

Atlee is yet to respond to the growing controversy. Varun Dhawan, Keerthy Suresh and Wamiqa Gabbi have also not reacted to the same.
