The opener was a golden-hour selfie of Genelia and husband Riteish Deshmukh, cheek to cheek against a dusky, candy-coloured sky – her in oversized black shades, him in a grey Rip Curl tee, both grinning like the holiday was everything they needed. From there, the dump dived straight into beach mode: a striking close-up of Genelia wrapped in a rust-orange towel over a black rashguard, sunglasses on, the turquoise lagoon shimmering behind her.

But the real scene-stealers were the kids. The couple's two sons, Riaan and Rahyl, along with their travel companions, lit up several frames. There was also a joyous shot of four children caught mid-jump on a wooden jetty, hair flying, the ocean glowing impossibly blue beneath them. Elsewhere, the little ones splashed about in the shallows, buried themselves in the sand in matching wetsuits, and – in one very relatable picture – passed out for a sun-drenched nap on the boat deck after all that adventure.
The biggest reveal came midway through: a tender shot of a child in a Messi number 10 jersey standing before two beds adorned with playful turndown art reading "Centara Mirage" and "Happy Birthday Rahyl," complete with balloons. Yes – the getaway doubled as a celebration for Rahyl, who turned 10 this June. A candid follow-up of him playfully tussling with another child showed just how much fun the birthday boy was having.
Genelia rounded out the gallery with quieter, atmospheric beats: a vivid garden lizard sunning itself on the sand, a heron standing sentinel on a softly lit jetty at night, the resort's overwater villas glowing across the lagoon at blue hour, and a cheeky "G.O.A.T" cap resting against a Centara speedboat. There were group photos too – a tilted, laughter-filled beach selfie and a relaxed night-time pool picture with their close friends.
Meanwhile, on the work front, the Deshmukhs are coming off one of the biggest moments of their careers. Riteish's passion project ‘Raja Shivaji’ – which he wrote, directed and headlined as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj – hit theatres on May 1, 2026, timed to Maharashtra Day, and released across multiple languages.
Genelia starred alongside him as Saibai while also co-producing the historical epic under the Mumbai Film Company banner with Jio Studios. The film turned into a true family affair: both Riaan and Rahyl made their acting debuts as younger versions of Shivaji. Backed by a starry ensemble that included Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Vidya Balan and Fardeen Khan, the project marked a significant milestone for the couple – making this Maldives getaway a well-earned break after a hectic stretch.
