Did Rakul Preet Singh Violate Rules At Gir National Park? Here's The Truth
Celebrity privilege or false alarm? Here’s the real story behind Rakul Preet Singh’s viral Gir Safari video.
The internet has been buzzing with controversy over a recent viral video featuring Bollywood actress Rakul Preet Singh during a visit to the renowned Gir National Park. The clip, which quickly spread across social media platforms, showed the star casually walking near a safari vehicle during what appeared to be a jungle excursion. Almost instantly, the footage ignited a fierce debate among netizens, raising pointed questions about wildlife safety regulations and the perennial issue of celebrity privilege.
Social media users were quick to point out that ordinary tourists are strictly prohibited from stepping out of their safari vehicles while inside protected wildlife zones. The visuals of Rakul Preet on foot led many to accuse the park of granting special treatment to high-profile visitors. According to reports, Rakul was visiting the park alongside the team of her highly anticipated upcoming film, ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh Do’, as part of an outing ahead of the movie’s release. As the debate raged online, wildlife enthusiasts and fans alike demanded answers regarding the alleged flouting of forest rules.

However, the growing online backlash prompted swift action from the authorities. Officials from Gir National Park stepped forward to issue a definitive clarification, putting the rumours of VIP rule-breaking to rest. Releasing an official statement via their Twitter handle, the authorities confirmed that the viral visuals were completely misunderstood. The footage in question was not shot inside the restricted sanctuary zone at all. Instead, it was captured just outside the designated entry point of the Sasan Sanctuary.
An official representative explained the situation clearly, stating, “Every sanctuary has a designated entry point for visitors entering the protected area. The viral video was shot outside that point. Therefore, we clarified that the incident did not take place inside the restricted zone.” The statement heavily emphasised that "no rules were violated" and that the sanctuary's restricted zone only begins after passing through this specific entry point.
But there is more to the story than just a geographical misunderstanding. The forest officials also revealed an unexpected detail: Rakul Preet Singh never actually went on the safari. According to authorities, the actress experienced a medical issue right before she was scheduled to enter the sanctuary premises. Because of this sudden health concern, her team had to quickly take her back, forcing her to abandon the planned visit entirely. The official clarified, “As per the rules, once inside the sanctuary, no one is allowed to step out of their safari vehicle. In the viral visuals, she is seen outside the entry point area, after which she left and returned. Due to a medical issue, she did not enter the sanctuary premises.”
With the safari controversy officially shut down by park authorities, Rakul Preet Singh’s focus remains firmly on the work front. The actress is currently gearing up for the theatrical release of ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh Do’, which is scheduled to hit the big screen on May 15, 2026. Directed by Mudassar Aziz, the film boasts a stellar ensemble cast featuring Ayushmann Khurrana, Sara Ali Khan, and Wamiqa Gabbi. It serves as a highly awaited sequel to the 2019 hit ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh’, which originally starred Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar, and Ananya Panday.
The film's cast has already been making waves in the news, with Sara Ali Khan and Rakul Preet recently shutting down circulating "catfight" rumours involving their co-star Wamiqa Gabbi.
