If there is one way to kick-start a promotional campaign with grace and grounding, Dhanush just showed us how. The National Award-winning actor took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a soulful photo dump from the holy city of Varanasi (Banaras), offering fans a glimpse into his spiritual retreat amidst work commitments. The actor was in the city to promote his highly anticipated film, ‘Tere Ishk Mein’, and the visuals are nothing short of ethereal.
He captioned the post with deep reverence, writing, “BANARAS. The world is a better place when you are at his feet. Har Har Mahadev.”

The photo series opened with a powerful image of Dhanush sitting cross-legged on a boat, drifting along the Ganges. Dressed in a simple white kurta featuring subtle pink tie-dye patterns and matching white trousers, he looked the picture of devotion. With holy beads around his neck and his eyes closed in prayer, the actor seemed to be soaking in the spiritual energy of the riverbank.
Another striking shot featured his back to the camera, gazing out at the horizon as the sun was seen setting over the water, capturing the timeless beauty of the Kashi ghats.
While the solo shots channelled zen, the group photos brought the warmth. Dhanush was joined by his stunning co-star, Kriti Sanon, who looked radiant in a traditional mustard-gold suit paired with an emerald green dupatta. The duo posed against a breathtaking sunset, framed by marigold garlands on the boat.
However, the photos suggested that their on-screen dynamic might be far more turbulent than these peaceful smiles. In ‘Tere Ishk Mein’, Kriti plays Mukti, a young woman who captures the heart of Shankar (played by Dhanush). Shankar is described as a fierce, volatile, and rule-breaking character. The film promises intense drama, as circumstances force the lovers apart, leading a heartbroken Shankar to pledge to “burn entire Delhi” to ashes in his rage.
The photo dump also highlighted the incredible bond between Dhanush and director Aanand L Rai. In one particularly heart-warming candid click, the director can be seen affectionately pulling Dhanush’s cheeks, a gesture that speaks volumes about their camaraderie. This project is deeply special for the team as ‘Tere Ishk Mein’ was announced on the 10th anniversary of ‘Raanjhanaa’ (2013), the film that marked Dhanush’s Bollywood debut and his first iconic collaboration with Aanand L Rai.
As the sun sets in Dhanush’s photos, the countdown begins for the film's release. Produced by Aanand L Rai, Himanshu Sharma, Bhushan Kumar, and Krishan Kumar under the banners of Gulshan Kumar, T-Series, and Colour Yellow Productions, the film is backed by a powerhouse team.
Adding to the excitement is the musical score by the legendary AR Rahman, promising a soundtrack as intense as the plot.
