Watch: Dhanush Curses Kriti Sanon In Fiery ‘Tere Ishk Mein’ Teaser; AR Rahman’s Music Impresses
Dhanush and Kriti Sanon’s ‘Tere Ishk Mein’ teaser promises a thrilling ride full of raw intensity, cursed love, and haunting AR Rahman score.
Dhanush and filmmaker Aanand L Rai are back together after four years of ‘Atrangi Re’ (2021) and 12 years since their cult hit ‘Raanjhanaa’ (2013). Their latest collaboration, ‘Tere Ishk Mein’, promises to revisit the raw intensity of obsessive love that made their earlier film famous. This time, Kriti Sanon joins Dhanush as the leading lady, with A. R. Rahman once again weaving his magic into the soundtrack. The film, produced by T-Series and Colour Yellow, is slated for a worldwide release on November 28 in Hindi and Tamil.
The makers recently unveiled the teaser, offering a glimpse into the world of Shankar (Dhanush) and Mukti (Kriti Sanon) – two lovers not destined to be together.
Check out the teaser here:
The teaser opens with Mukti’s haldi ceremony, where she is shaken to see Shankar arrive, battered and bruised, carrying Ganga jal. He tells her he has just returned from immersing his father’s ashes in the river and urges her to wash away her sins before starting her married life. In a shocking turn, he pours the sacred water on her, cursing her to someday understand the pain of love lost.
The teaser cuts between the present and flashbacks of their turbulent romance – brimming with passion, obsession, and destruction. Dhanush is shown whipping a thug in a fit of rage, while Kriti drowns her sorrows with cigarettes and alcohol. Their shared glances and dangerous smiles hint at a relationship that thrives on extremes, blurring the line between love and cruelty.
The final moments of the teaser are particularly hard-hitting. Shankar tells Mukti that he will pray to Lord Shankar that Mukti gives birth to a boy so that she understands the agony men endure when they lose themselves in love. This chilling curse sets the tone for a story that promises to be as haunting as it is human.
Visually, Aanand L Rai returns to the backdrop of Benaras, infusing the teaser with poetic imagery. The ghats, rituals, and chaotic streets add weight to the theme of love turning into suffering. The atmosphere is heightened by AR Rahman’s evocative score, with lyrics by Irshad Kamil and vocals by Arijit Singh creating a lingering impact.
The film also reunites Aanand L Rai with long-time collaborators Himanshu Sharma (screenwriter) and AR Rahman, both of whom were central to the success of ‘Raanjhanaa’. AR Rahman’s past soundtracks for Aanand L Rai from Raanjhanaa’s ‘Tum Tak’ and ‘Banarasiya’ to Atrangi Re’s ‘Chaka Chak’ – remain fan favourites, and expectations from ‘Tere Ishk Mein’ are sky-high.
Speaking about the film, Aanand L Rai described ‘Tere Ishk Mein’ as “a story of surrender, where love heals, hurts, and transforms.”
Backed by T-Series, Colour Yellow, Aanand L Rai, Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, and Himanshu Sharma, ‘Tere Ishk Mein’ releases worldwide on November 28, promising an unforgettable tale of love, loss, and longing.
