In just five days since its release, the new Hindi movie has crossed the Rs 50 crore mark at the box office. The new Hindi movie, also starring Yogita Bihani, Siddhi Idnani and Sonia Balani in the lead roles, has so far collected Rs 56.86 crore.

In the latest Bollywood box office news, according to Taran Adarsh, the new Hindi movie made more money on its fifth day than its opening day.
‘The Kerala Story’ collected Rs 8.03 crore on Friday. The new Bollywood movie witnessed a significant jump in its box office collection on Saturday and Sunday, minting Rs 11.22 crore and Rs 16.40 crore, respectively.
‘The Kerala Story’ minted Rs 10.07 crore on its first Monday and then witnessed an increase in its box office collection, earning Rs 11.14 crore on Tuesday, taking its total to Rs 56.86 crore.
It is worth mentioning that ‘The Kerala Story’ managed to make Rs 35 crore during its opening weekend despite facing tough competition from the Marvel film ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ and the IPL 2023.
While the new Bollywood movie is performing well at the domestic box office, it continues to remain controversial as several people have hit out at its subject matter.
However, veteran actress Shabana Azmi recently tweeted in support of ‘The Kerala Story’, saying once a movie has been passed by CBFC, it should not be banned.
Taking to Twitter, Shabana Azmi wrote, "Those who speak of banning #The Kerala Story are as wrong as those who wanted to ban Aamir Khan’s #Laal Singh Chaadha. Once a film has been passed by the Central Board of Film Certification nobody has the right to become an extra constitutional authority."
Ever since the trailer of ‘The Kerala Story’ was released, the movie has been embroiled in a controversy regarding the subject matter it is trying to portray. The trailer originally stated that the film is based on the stories of more than 32,000 Kerala women who have allegedly been radicalised by Islamic fundamentalists.
However, amid huge backlash, the makers changed the trailer synopsis, and the revised version stated that the film is based on the “true stories of three young girls from different parts of Kerala.”
'The Kerala Story' has been directed by Sudipto Sen, while it is bankrolled by Vipul Amrutlal Shah.
