"For Prabhas This...": Amitabh Bachchan Says 'Kalki 2898 AD' Crossing Rs 1,000 Crore Is "An Achievement" For Him
Amitabh Bachchan who plays Ashwatthama in 'Kalki 2898 AD', spoke about the monumental success of the film.
Nag Ashwin's 'Kalki 2898 AD', starring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani, has proved to be a box-office juggernaut. The new pan-India film, which happens to be a science-fiction epic, has already collected more than Rs 1,000 crore worldwide, and in the latest entertainment news, Amitabh Bachchan who plays Ashwatthama in 'Kalki 2898 AD', spoke about the monumental success of the film. In a video shared by Vyjayanthi Films, Amitabh Bachchan expressed gratitude and he even called the film doing Rs 1,000 crore business as an "achievement" for himself. He also said that such numbers for his co-star Prabhas may be "routine".
“This is for me an achievement, for Prabhas this may be routine because a lot of his films cross this 1000 crore figure, but for me, I am truly indebted and grateful to have been made a part of this huge, concept called Kalki. I really am falling short of words to express how much I have enjoyed the film and for those of you who may not know, I have already seen the film four times. Each time I have discovered something new that I may have missed when I saw it for the first time," Big B said.
“For me, this film has been not just another actor’s job, but it has been a great education in our culture and Indian mythology. How beautifully Nagi has brought all of that into the form of a story, made it so credible that it is receiving the support and love of the people. There is another part to the film to bring it to its conclusion and I do look forward to it. I have been asked to be a part of it. My gracious gratitude to all of you who have contributed to making this film such a huge success. I hope it continues to grow in the days and years to come," he added.

Coming back to 'Kalki 2898 AD', the Nag Ashwin directorial is a mix of Hindu mythology set in a dystopian world where Amitabh Bachchan's character has made it his mission to save the unborn child of Deepika Padukone’s character.
For the unversed, 'Kalki 2898 AD' also features cameos by Dulquer Salmaan, SS Rajamouli, Mrunal Thakur, Ram Gopal Varma, and Vijay Deverakonda.
On Tuesday (Day 20 of its release), 'Kalki 2898 AD' minted Rs 5.10 crore, as per Sacnilk. Out of this Rs 5.10 crore, the Hindi version contributed Rs 3.10 crore. The total nett domestic collection of the film now stands at Rs 589.10 crore.
The Hindi version has so far minted Rs 260.10 crore, while the Telugu version has made Rs 268.15 crore.
