How They Met
Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone were both preparing for their acting debuts when they first heard about each other through their common make-up artists, Bharat and Dorris. In a joint 2008 interview with People magazine, the actors recalled exchanging numbers before Ranbir invited Deepika to lunch at Celini in Mumbai’s Grand Hyatt in July 2007. They subsequently spent more time together. Their romance became public at the 53rd Filmfare Awards in February 2008. In March 2008, Ranbir told IANS that he and Deepika had been dating for a while and that he was happy to be part of her life. Deepika also acknowledged the relationship publicly.

Reports of Ranbir and Deepika’s split emerged in November 2009. How They Met
Reportedly, Ranbir and Katrina’s first meeting took place at Katrina’s birthday party in July 2008, which Ranbir attended with Deepika. Ranbir and Katrina subsequently worked together in Rajkumar Santoshi’s 2009 film ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’, followed by Prakash Jha’s ‘Raajneeti’ in 2010. Romance rumours began circulating around this period, but the exact starting date was never revealed. Interestingly, their ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’ co-star Vishwanath Chatterjee said in 2026 that he had not witnessed any romance between them on the set.

For several years, the pair avoided defining their equation. They were nevertheless photographed attending screenings, parties, holidays and family occasions together. The most public moment arrived in July 2013, when photographs from their holiday in Ibiza, Spain, circulated online.

By late 2014, multiple reports stated that Ranbir had moved out of his parents’ home and was sharing a residence with Katrina on Carter Road in Mumbai. Reports that Ranbir and Katrina had separated emerged in January 2016. Their representatives initially avoided a formal announcement, but the breakup was later acknowledged through their interviews. Avantika Malik
Numerous entertainment reports have described Avantika Malik as Ranbir’s teenage girlfriend before she entered a long-term relationship with Imran Khan. However, no reliable interview or direct confirmation from Ranbir or Avantika establishes the duration and nature of this alleged romance.
Sonam Kapoor
Ranbir and Sonam worked as assistant directors on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Black’ before making their acting debuts together in ‘Saawariya’. Rumours involving Pakistani actress Mahira Khan intensified after she and Ranbir appeared at the Global Teacher Prize event in Dubai in March 2017. Later that year, candid photographs of them smoking together outside a New York hotel circulated online.
