Plot Summary
The film follows the journey of Satya, an immigrant who arrives in Mumbai in search of work. After being wrongly jailed for a crime he didn't commit, he meets the powerful underworld figure Bhiku Mhatre in prison. Upon his release, Satya is drawn into Mhatre's gang, slowly rising through the ranks to become an influential figure in the city's criminal landscape. 

Parallel to his criminal life, Satya meets Vidya, a simple singer who lives next door and is unaware of his true connections. The narrative explores his internal conflict between his love for Vidya and the brutal realities of his gangster life, all while a brutal gang war heats up and political tensions rise. The film's central message is often cited as "crime never pays".
