Renowned Hindi television actor Rituraj Singh passed away at the age of 59 after suffering a cardiac arrest on Tuesday. His sudden death has sent shockwaves across the film and television industry. Rituraj Singh initially ventured into acting with theatre before making his foray into television. He gained prominence for his portrayal of various characters in popular TV series. Actors from the film and television industries have been coming forward to offer condolences to his family. Many stars are also sharing their memories of working with him on social media.
Amid this, several photos of him from his younger days are going viral. Some of the photos also feature Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan. For the unversed, Rituraj Singh and Shah Rukh Khan were friends in their theatre days. The actors were reportedly a part of Barry John’s Theatre Action Group (TAG).

In the photos, the actors and their groupmates were seen hanging out together. The clicks showed Rituraj, SRK and their friends making goofy poses together.
Rituraj Singh’s close friend Amit Bhel confirmed the news of his death and told The Indian Express, “He was unwell. Was hospitalised 15 days back due to some pancreatic issues. Was back home few days back, but yesterday was feeling really weak and they rushed him to hospital. But he got the attack before reaching hospital.”
Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan, who has shared screen space with the late actor Rituraj Singh in ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’, recently reacted to the shocking news and expressed his grief over the loss.
Varun Dhawan told Zoom, “Just shocked. He was to work with me for Baby John. I met him on the sets and chatted as well with him and this was a couple of months back. He was very affectionate towards me.”
He also took to Instagram to mourn the late actor's death and wrote, “#rip Rituraj sir had such a wonderful time working with him and had just meet him a few months back on the sets of baby john. Om Shanti.”
For the unversed, Rituraj Singh has appeared in TV shows such as ‘Banegi Apni Baat’, ‘Jyoti’, ‘Hitler Didi’, ‘Shapath’, ‘Warrior High’, ‘Aahat’, ‘Adaalat’, ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ and more.
More recently, he starred in the uber-popular show ‘Anupamaa’, featuring actress Rupali Ganguly in the lead role.
Rituraj Singh has also starred in films like ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’, ‘Satyameva Jayate 2’, and ‘Yaariyan 2’.
He was also seen in the second season of ‘Made In Heaven’, in which he played the role of Radhika Apte's father.
Rituraj Singh has also starred in Disney+ Hotstar series ‘Criminal Justice’ and Amazon Prime Video series ‘Bandish Bandits’.
