Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal has officially put an end to the swirling speculation that he would be reuniting with his ex-wife, Dhanashree Verma, on a new reality show. Recent reports suggested that the former couple, whose divorce was finalized in March 2025, were set to come face-to-face as participants in Farah Khan’s upcoming captive reality show ‘The 50’. The potential of an on-screen reunion between the two had sparked significant curiosity and buzz among fans, given their history.

Taking to Instagram Stories, Yuzvendra Chahal dismissed the collaboration rumours entirely. His team issued a formal statement, which the cricketer re-shared, calling the reports “speculative and incorrect”.

The statement read: “There is no truth to the reports currently circulating about Yuzvendra Chahal’s participation in any reality show... Yuzvendra is not associated with the show mentioned in recent reports, and there are no discussions or commitments of this nature.”

The note further requested media platforms and social media users to refrain from spreading unverified information.

While Yuzvendra Chahal has cleared the air, Dhanashree Verma has not yet reacted to the rumours regarding her participation.

The show in question, ‘The 50’, will be hosted by filmmaker Farah Khan and is scheduled to go live on February 1 on Jio Hotstar. The show promises to bring together 50 strong contestants from various reality shows. In the first promo, Farah Khan hinted that the show would break the monotony of the genre and “shake things up”.

The intrigue surrounding the ex-couple stems from their acrimonious split. Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree met during the COVID-19 pandemic when he approached her for dance lessons. They married in Gurugram in December 2020 but separated in June 2022, with a divorce petition filed in 2023. They were officially granted a divorce in March last year.

Since the split, both have remained in the news. Chahal sparked romance rumours after being spotted at the Champions Trophy final in Dubai with RJ Mahvash. However, Mahvash has consistently asserted that they are just friends.

Dhanashree also grabbed headlines during her stint on the first season of the reality show ‘Rise and Fall’, where she addressed her marriage and divorce openly.

During the show, she dismissed rumours that she had taken Rs 4 crore in alimony. She also made strong statements regarding the narrative surrounding their split: “This entire chatter and gossip about my divorce is all made up. I have left behind this chapter of my life. People will always keep spreading wrong stories, but what you feel on the inside is important and true. I had to constantly explain myself all the time. They will spread such rubbish about me. He is scared that I will open my mouth, and all of this is being done to shut me up. If I tell you the true details of what happened, this show will seem like peanuts to you.”

While Yuzvendra Chahal has ruled out his presence on ‘The 50’, all eyes remain on the show's launch to see if Dhanashree will indeed be part of the line-up.
