Suhana Khan will be making her acting debut with Zoya Akhtar’s upcoming directorial ‘The Archies’, set to release on Netflix.
Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan's daughter Suhana Khan is gearing up for acting debut. She will be starring in Netflix film 'The Archies', which has been directed by Zoya Akhtar. The upcoming Netflix movie will also mark the debut of Khushi Kapoor (sister of Janhvi Kapoor) and Agastya Nanda (grandson of Amitabh Bachchan). It will also introduce viewers to several other new faces – Mihir Ahuja, singer Aditi Saigal (Dot), Vedang Raina and Yuvraj Menda. Recently, Suhana Khan cited Alia Bhatt’s as she talked about the importance of role models in life.
During a promotional event for her debut film ‘The Archies’, Suhana Khan called Alia Bhatt "incredible" after the latter chose to repeat her wedding saree at the National Film Awards 2023.
“Alia wore her wedding saree again for the National Awards and I think as somebody with a platform, who has an influence, I thought that was incredible and a much-needed message,” Suhana Khan said.
“She did that and she took a stand towards sustainability. If Alia Bhatt can re-wear her wedding saree, then we can also repeat an outfit for a party. We don't need to buy a new outfit. We don't realise but making new garments creates waste which impacts our biodiversity and environment. So, it's very important,” she added.

This comment by Suhana Khan sparked mixed reactions on social media. A Reddit user commented, “Re-wearing a saree that costs millions is sustainability for them. Good.”
“Repeating clothes is sustainability, I contributed to biodiversity and the environment all my life and many fold until the clothes color fade or worn out,” wrote another user.
A third user commented, “She's talking about the richest here, that's probably 1% of society.”
“Hamare yaha tho jab tak silai nhi nikalti, we wear it,” wrote one user.
“And then recycle it at a pocha. No one has ever appreciated us,” wrote another user.
For the unversed, Alia Bhatt had worn her wedding saree for the National Film Awards 2023, where she received the Best Actress award for ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’.
“Whenever there is a big event or big moment coming up, you start preparing for it… I instinctively felt like, ‘I’m going to re-wear my wedding saree’. The saree was ideated and done beautifully by Sabyasachi Mukherjee but it was a lot of me, white and gold combination and certain symbols. It was the garment I felt most myself in. And it was a really special moment for a different reason. A special outfit can be worn for a special occasion more than once,” Alia Bhatt had told news agency PTI.
The saree has been designed by Sabyasachi Mukherjee. It is a hand-dyed ivory organza saree embroidered with fine tilla work.
Coming back to Suhana Khan, she will soon be seen in ‘The Archies’. The upcoming movie will be released on Netflix on December 7.
It has been co-produced by Zoya Akhtar, Reema Kagti and Sharad Devarajan under their production houses Tiger Baby and Graphic India.
In the film, Suhana Khan will essay the character of Veronica Lodge, Agastya Nanda of Archie Andrews and Khushi Kapoor of Betty Cooper. Vedang Raina will be seen as Reggie Mantle, Yuvraj Menda as Dilton Doiley, Mihir Ahuja as Jughead Jones and Aditi Saigal as Ethel Muggs.
