British band Coldplay's India tour ended on Sunday as they performed in front of a jam-packed crowd at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. Among lakhs of attendees was India cricketer Jasprit Bumrah. The Ahmedabad concert was streamed live on Disney+ Hotstar. The camera panned to Jasprit Bumrah during the fans section of the concert. The crowd went berserk as soon as the India pacer was shown on the big screen. Coldplay's lead singer, Chris Martin, then dedicated a special song to the World No.1 ranked ICC Test bowler.

He also showed clips of Jasprit Bumrah dismissing England's Ollie Pope, Ben Duckett and Ben Stokes during last year’s Test series between the two countries.

“Jasprit, Jasprit, wellll… Jasprit my beautiful brother. The best bowler in the whole of cricket, we do not enjoy watching you destroy England with wicket, after wicket, after wicket,” Chris Martin sang.

As soon as Chris Martin dedicated this special impromptu song, Jasprit Bumrah was seen blushing.

Earlier, during the Mumbai concerts, Coldplay had mentioned Jasprit Bumrah twice. During the first gig, Chris Martin had joked about Bumrah being present backstage.

However, in another concert, Chris Martin confessed that it was a lie, saying, “I'm so sorry, but I have to read a letter from Jasprit Bumrah’s lawyer. I have to read it because otherwise, we could be sent to prison and wouldn’t be able to perform in Ahmedabad.”

The letter read, “Dear Coldplay, in your first and second shows, you mentioned Jasprit Bumrah without permission. It’s illegal. You can’t mention Jasprit. Who do you think you are, you stupid Englishman? It also says, Mr Jasprit Bumrah is the greatest bowler in the whole wide world, and you are just a silly singer.”

On Sunday, during the Ahmedabad concert, Coldplay also performed ‘Vande Mataram’, marking Republic Day 2025. Chris Martin also extended Republic Day wishes to the entire country.

“Hello everybody, I see you all and you look so beautiful. I see you all the way up there in the top stand. Thank you for being here. We welcome you all. Waving the Indian flag on Republic Day, that’s beautiful,” he said.

“Thank you all so much for making the effort to come to this show. I know it’s difficult to come here with the traffic, hotels and ticket queues and all the bulls**t you had to go through. Thank you for making the effort to give us this amazing day. Thank you for welcoming us to your beautiful country and thank you for letting us play for India,” he added.
