Fresh off her 30th birthday celebrations on April 5, actress Rashmika Mandanna took the wedding festivities to her roots, hosting a grand reception in her hometown of Kodagu, Karnataka. The event, which has quickly become the talk of the industry, saw the actress and her husband, actor Vijay Deverakonda, celebrating their union amidst the rich cultural heritage of Coorg. The reception was a visual tribute to Rashmika’s heritage. The actress looked radiant in a silk saree draped in the traditional Kodava style, a nod to her Coorgi upbringing.

Walking hand-in-hand with Vijay Deverakonda, who opted for a sharp, sophisticated suit, the couple appeared every bit the picture of marital bliss. The duo made a grand entry into the venue, greeted by the cheers of family and friends, before proceeding to a ceremonial cake-cutting.

The event was a close-knit yet grand affair, with the parents of both actors present and dressed in their festive best. Photos and videos circulating online captured the couple’s infectious smiles as they navigated the traditional rituals of the region.

The highlight of the evening was the couple’s interaction with the guests. Addressing the gathering, an emotional Rashmika expressed her deep connection to her hometown. “I am this child of the soil,” she shared, adding that the love of the Kodava people is "always special." She expressed immense joy at returning home after her wedding, noting that celebrating with her family and friends was her "fortune."

Vijay Deverakonda also charmed the audience by attempting to speak in Kodava Takk before switching to English. He revealed that this was his third visit to Kodagu, admitting that he had become incredibly fond of the place. “I always thought women here were super beautiful, even before I met her,” Vijay remarked. “I think Coorgi women are beautiful, and I'm married to one. I'm very happy.” He also expressed a desire to return soon to explore Rashmika’s childhood home and the life she led before her rise to stardom.

The Kodagu reception is the latest chapter in what has been a months-long celebration for the couple. After getting engaged in a quiet ceremony in Hyderabad last October – where they were spotted wearing rings despite no official confirmation – the pair tied the knot in Udaipur on February 26, 2026. That ceremony was a blend of traditional Telugu wedding rituals with Kodava elements.

Since the wedding, they have hosted a reception in Hyderabad in March and made a spiritual visit to the Igguthappa temple in Karnataka.

Rashmika and Vijay’s chemistry has been a fan favourite since they first worked together in the 2018 hit ‘Geetha Govindam’, followed by the 2019 film ‘Dear Comrade’. While Rashmika was previously engaged to her ‘Kirik Party’ co-star Rakshit Shetty in 2017 (parting ways in 2018) and Vijay was rumoured to be dating a Belgian national, the two have now found their happily ever after.

Fans of the ‘ViRosh’ pairing have more to look forward to, as the couple is set to return to the big screen together in their upcoming project, ‘Ranabaali’. For now, the couple remains focused on soaking in the blessings of their family in the serene hills of Coorg.
